The Arcade

Third POV

The summer before high school, another day spent at the arcade the place where y/n met Lucas, she was playing space invaders and was losing terribly, "you know you'd be doing better if you focused more on hitting the more powerful invaders", y/n paused the game and spun around ready to snap at someone but was met with the most stunning brown eyes ever, "um yeah that makes sense, I guess" then unknown boy walked forward a bit a showed you how to play better and soon introduced himself "I'm Lucas by the way", he held out his hand for you to shake, "I'm y/n", he smiled at you as you sat down at the closest table, "so do you go to Hawkins high Lucas?", you said as you put your feet up on the chair next to you, "um yeah, I do", " well I hope to see you around the halls when the year starts back ", you smiled as you got up and walked away, "wait can I get your number?" but by then you were gone.

Now here you are walking into school the next year hoping to find the brown-eyed boy you met over the summer. as you got to your locker you saw a familiar curly head boy walking towards you " Hey y/n", Dustin said in a cheerful voice, "oh hey Dustin" you smiled at him as you shut your locker, " How was your summer?", "I was good, I met a boy", you said smiling to yourself, "oh really and who is this man?", "his name is Luc-", you got cut off when you heard Dustin yell "LUCAS!", he soon sprinted down the hall towards that familiar brown-eyed boy, "Oh my god  Lucas, I haven't seen you in so long, I missed you, bro, oh Lucas this is my friend y/n", you walked up to Dustin and Lucas meeting his gaze, "Well hello y/n, I haven't  seen you since the arcade, and you left before I could ask you an important question,", you smiled at him as Dustin stood there dumbfounded," Hello to you Lucas, and what might this important question be?", "well I was hoping to get your number and hopefully take you out on a date sometime if that is alright with you?", you smiled at him as you saw Dustin's face change from confusion to realization extremely quick, "wait y/n, so Lucas is the guy you met on summer break?", you nodded at him as a look of shock took his face, "oh my god, I have to go tell Mike this", Dustin ran off down the hall as you and Lucas watched him run away.

As he left you and Lucas standing alone, you soon made awkward eye contact, "um so what about that date?", Lucas said, you smiled a him "I'd love to Lucas" you said and gave him a peck on the cheek as you walk off, "I'll see you at lunch", Lucas said as he watched you walk off with a smile.
