Steves POV 

one year ago

I went up behind Nancy who was standing at her locker and grabbed her by the waist swinging her around and then in for a kiss, she squealed out of surprise and then depend on the kiss, soon the bell rang and Nancy pulled away "I've got to go to class, Steve", she turned around and grabbed her things from her locker and walked off. 

Normal time 

I looked over at Nancy and Jonathan kissing and cuddling at the lunch table in the cafeteria, thinking back over how me and Nancy use to do that when we were together. How could she hurt me like that,Bitch. My current girlfriend Y/n sat next to me writing out notes while my arm sat wrapped around her shoulder, I looked down at her she had a concentrated look on her face which made her look adorable, "You're staring Harrington", she said which caught me by suprise "Sorry babe", she looked up and smiled at me, planing a kiss on my cheek and then going back to her notes my gaze fell on Nancy and Jonathan once again, zoning out as I watched them continue to talk and kiss. 

Y/n POV

"Do you remember what the teacher said about World War ll Steve?", I asked as I continued to write down notes, "Steve?", I questioned after he didn't reply, I looked up to see him staring at Nancy...again. I let out a sigh as I stood up and gathered my stuff, I was half way out of the cafeteria before I heard Steve behind me, "Hey babe, wait up, where are you going?" I heard Steve asked from behind me, "I'm to the bleachers","oh cool, I'll come with you", I scoffed at his words and stopped in my tracks "You sure, or would you rather stay here and gawke at Nancy for the rest of lunch?", He stopped as well and looked at me confused, "What, what are you talking about, I wasn't gawking at Nancy", I scoffed again and continued to walk away to the bleachers "Don't kid yourself Steve, I saw you staring at her and Jonathan, like you do everytime you see her", He looked like he was getting angry but I was already angry and I wasn't done telling him off,"I don't stare at Nancy and Jonathan,", "yes you do, your'e obsessed with her Steve, it been a year since you too broke up Steve, how about you stop focusing on your exs love life and focuse more on your own with me, you girlfriend", I ranted at him as we got to the bleachers "Ok fine, I look at her every once and a while ok, is that what you wanted to hear y/n?", I looked at him debating wheather or not to ask him the question that was picking at my brain, "Do you still love her?", I asked him as I tried to hold tears back.

He opened his mouth and then hestiated to speak, that gave me a clue that he definetly still did "huh wow, you do still love her", I said as the tears fell from my eyes, I wiped them before he could see them, I went to walk away just as he grabbed my wrist "Y/n, I don't lover her anymore ok, I love you, pls believe me", I scoffed "Why should I believe you when all you do is stare at her all day, you know Steve she moved on, maybe you should too",I walked away again and still heared him following me "Where are you going now y/n?", "home", I answered staring forward as I contined walking. "Y/n listen to me, I don't love her anymore, I love you ok", I looked at him as he placed his hands on my shoulders, I went to reply but soon enough Nancy walked around the corner with Jonathan, Steve caugh sight and stared at them until they were out of sight, I scoffed and let out a breathless laugh, "bull shit, we're done Steve", I moved out of his grasp running back into the school building with Steve not to far behind me "What do you mean we're done y/n?", "It means I'm breaking up with you, you know you really should trying getting over Nancy before going out with someone else", I walked away leaving him speachless.

I walked home in tears, I really loved Steve but he was so obsessed with Nancy that it was a one sided relationship with him. I soon made it home and went up to my room, I flopped down onto my bed and cried into my pillow, as the night went on I soon heard taps on my window I looked over to find Steve hanging there wanting to get in, I walked over and opened up the window, ''What do you want Harrington",I walked back over to my bed sitting down and resuming my notes, "I came to talk to you and get you back, because I love you and I won't lose you", I looked up at him as he stood now in my room running his hands through his hair "yeah no maybe try again when you aren't in love with Nancy,", "But I'm not in love with Nancy, I'm in love with you y/n", he shouted at me "Why don't you believe me?", "because you spend every moment you see her eye fucking her, you know it wouldn't kill you to pay attention to your current girlfriend Steve", I shouted back at him.

He looked at me for a moment before pulling me into a passionate kiss, I pulled away straight away, "NO, YOU DON'T GET TO KISS ME AFTER EYE FUCKING NANCY AT LUNCH", I screamed at him as he put his hands up in defense,"Get out Steve", he looked up at me, "What?", "GET OUT", I screamed as tears ran down my face, "No, Y/n tell me what do I have to do to make you believe I love you and not her, please tell me so I can make this right again, please I'll do anything", He said with pleading eyes,"There is nothing you can do Steve" I said crying, I wiped my eyes as he sighed in defeat, "fine but can I do something before I leave?", I nodded at him, He pulled somethng out of his pockets and got down on one knee "woah, woah, what are you doing Steve?", "Oh relax I'm not proposing but I am giving you a promise ring, so y/n I promise to give you all my attention and to never stare at Nancy ever again, if you'll take me back, I promise to marry you one day", Steve looked at me waiting for an answer as stood there in shock, I pulled him up off the ground so I was looking into his eyes, I pulled him in for a kiss which he returned straight away, I pulled away and held his face "You promise?", I asked with a tear stained face, "yeah I promise", He replied with a strained voice, "so will you be my girlfriend again?", I let out a breathless laugh "Yeah I will Steve", He smiled and spun me around bringing me into a kiss again.

"I love you" I said in a worried tone, he let a big grin spread on his face "I love you too y/n" he replied as he slipped the promise ring on my finger kissing me again.
