"Wasn't that the main point? To get your freedom," says Hermione.

Tiamat sighs hand dropping to her side, "That's only part of it because even without those cuffs it doesn't mean I or my kind are truly free," Tiamat gaze softens, "and I still have not manage to transform and take the sky." 

"Why?" Tiamat chuckles, "If I tell you will you tell me the real reason you told me to leave," Hermione closes her eyes as she nods. 

Tiamat smiles, "Good. I haven't taken to the skies because it has been a long time that I'm filled with doubts and fear,"

"Even you can feel fear...""Of course, Hermione. No matter the creature we all can feel fear," Hermione smiles, "True. I'm just afraid too that you will leave and not..." her shoulders slump unable to finish her sentence. Tiamat places a hand on Hermione's cheek, "I am not a heartless person and I doubt I would leave you behind Hermione,"

"Then is its true what Charlie said?" Tiamat raises an eyebrow, "Which of many?"

"That I am your mate," says Hermione staring into Tiamat's yellow eyes that widen slightly before returning to their softness."

I want to say yes, but can't. But there is no doubt in my instincts that are telling me to woo you which would be different from normal since you aren't a dragon. However, at this moment I can't allow myself to follow those instincts because its not safe and if they get whiff that you are my mate what do you think they would do? I could careless what they try to do to me, but you will be ban from your kind," says Tiamat, "and that doesn't end well no matter how much the dragon tries the human will always crave their own.

Hermione shakes her head lowering Tiamat hand from her face."I am my own person and you have no right to assume that might happen to me. Charlie and the rest of the wizards who work with dragons are an example of giving up being around others to be with dragons."

Tiamat frowns, "You seriously using him as an example? I honestly doubt he cares about anything that is not a dragon and that is because he was one, "Hermione eyes widen and mouth opens wide only to close it a second later." What you mean?" ask Hermione letting go of Tiamat's hand.

Tiamat puts a hand on her waist, "I can sense magic much better than wizards would ever will and that's why I can tell that there is traces of dragon magic in him. We live long, but we can die and that seems to be what happened to him and any other wizard who works with us,"

"All of the dragon tamers were once dragons?" Tiamat smiles, "Of course, no ordinary wizard can work with us and we can sense that. There are the few rare cases that ordinary people can get along with us like you or others that we deem worthy of sharing our knowledge with,"

"That's...incredible," Tiamat nods, "Do you understand now? I don't need much or have the desire for wizards to accept us. What I really want is place that is safe where there will be no chains keeping us from the skies," she grabs Hermione by the waist, "and where I can proudly show off my mate." She finishes to capture Hermione's lips in a searing kiss. Forcing a small squeak of surprise from Hermione who returns it with the same passion that even Tiamat's claws didn't hurt as she pulls her closer to her warm body.

Tiamat regretfully pulls back licking her lips as Hermione pants, eyes half-lidded as a red blush cover her cheeks to her ears. "You taste good I wonder where else," Tiamat says, leaning down to lick Hermione's neck elating a moan from her redden lips. A loud explosion forces Tiamat to look away from Hermione, seems like Charlie took too long.

Tiamat sighs when Hermione's body goes limp that if Tiamat was not supporting her she would be on the ground. Tiamat curses as she looks at Hermione with her eyes close panting, but the worrying part was the high temperature of her body and the sizzling lines appearing on Hermione's skin.
