Trust, trust, trust. The one singular word that kept running through Hunter's mind as they scoped out a planet to hide away on. His eyes flickering to Yelena every so often, the woman sitting in the chair to his left with Omega in her lap. That child was attached to her hip, though Yelena would say the same about him and Omega. Still trusting Yelena, Echo had questioned him about that. He didn't respond or give an answer. It would be obvious to anyone how loyal and trusting Echo was to Yelena, the man trusted her indefinitely. For Hunter, however, he didn't know. He honestly didn't know if he trusted Yelena, there was once again so little that he knew about her and Echo refused to tell him anything she didn't allow him to say. Chip by chip, piece by piece, yeah, Yelena would share something of herself, but there was always some feeling that...there was more, something very deep she was hiding.
He had an idea it had to do with her family. She never spoke about her family unless it was Sveta or Anakin or Obi-Wan or Ahsoka. Sveta was the only blood relative she spoke up except the time she mentioned Ursa Wren. Family could be complicated, he understood that. However, with Yelena, it seemed to run deeper than just complications with family. Hunter's gaze finally snapped away from Yelena just as coincidently the woman looked at him, it didn't take their connection or the constant feeling they had with what Yelena called their gifts for them to know when the other was doing something. Yelena was smart. Both had an interest in the other with this connection, a wondering of why. Hunter tried to understand and Yelena always chalked it down to the force butting in and doing her business as usual. Like always. "Idaflor, that's where we'll go." Hunter announced, pointing to the screen.
"But Idaflor's not even inhabited." Wrecker frowned confused.
"Which makes it the perfect place to hide out." Hunter counters and explains, Yelena humming and nodding, glancing back at Wrecker.
"Perfect place for you guys to hide out. Being on a populated planet while being wanted isn't ideal." Yelena spoke up and agreed with Hunter, Tech and Hunter pausing and exchanging a look when she didn't include herself. Was something wrong? He was under the impression she was going to stick with them, but Yelena could sense it...she could sense Hunter's feelings and all the woman could think about was protecting Omega. "It's what's best, Wrecker. It's the safest option." She calmly told the man who now seemed to understand and nodded.
"Hide?" Omega huffed, Yelena letting a small grunt when the girl threw her head back and it collided with her collar bone. "But I've been stuck on Kamino my whole life." She complained and Yelena couldn't help but smirk slightly. Yep, that was Ahsoka-like for sure. No doubt in her mind the girl would've complained like that too. "Can't we explore?" Omega asked eagerly.
"I don't know ask your dad." Yelena sarcastically stated, her eyes flickering to Hunter who rolled his eyes and Tech couldn't help but snicker behind his hand.
"Not right now." Hunter shook his head, speaking up before anyone could make a comment about Yelena's sarcastic words. "We have to wait for things to settle down." He tells the little girl.
"Well, we won't be doing either." Tech piped up from where he sat in the chair to Yelena's and Omega's left, typing away on his datapad. "We don't have enough fuel, and we are also entirely out of rations." He informed them and Yelena let out a puff of air, of course they were. "Without the Republic to provide us supplies, we'll have to acquire these necessities on our own."
"That what else I was going to mention. You can't go into hiding without food, water, fuel, and most importantly the credits to pay for all of that." Yelena brought up and Tech nodded at her words, Hunter glancing at her and listening. "Even I'm low on credits and that's because of my time spent on Kamino instead of taking jobs." She added with a small sigh, Hunter looked at her and moved to speak up when Echo walked into the room.
