-Emilia
"Promise me you won't be rude," I said to Rio as he parked his car on my dad's street. He turned the car off before looking at me. "No," he replied.
"Pleasee?" I pleaded. "Be nice," I said.
"Okay," he said and I smiled.
"Promise?" I pushed.
"I'm not promising you Emilia," he chuckled before exiting the car. I followed his actions, waiting until he got out of the street and on my side of the pavement.
"Okay then swear to me you'll be nice and try to get along with him? You don't even have to try you can just not say anything to him unless he talks to you," I said. I thought it was ridiculous that I was even trying to make sure nothing would happen, he dislikes Grey for no reason. Well I guess not for nothing, it's because of jealousy.
I smiled and grabbed his hand, taking the lead towards my father's door. A few seconds after my knock, the door opened. My eyes lit up. "Edward," I said surprisingly. I honestly didn't expect to see him for a while.
He smiled down at me before pulling me in for a hug. "I'm so happy for you," I spoke.
We both pulled away the hug to look at each other. He smiled down at me. "Thanks, Emilia."
As he lead us in the house, I instantly heard chatter. It wasn't too loud, but I could tell there were more people here than just my family. I walked in the living room, Ethan and Grey sat on a couch deep in conversation, there were four other women on the couches and I have no clue who they are. Delilah sat next to one of the women, chatting with her until she spotted me.
A bright smile took over her face before standing up and hugging me. I returned it before pulling away, "Happy birthday," I said with a smile.
"Thank you, thank you so much for coming!" She said with a wide smile. "You two want anything to eat, drink?" she asked Rio and I.
I shook my head. "No, it's your birthday," I chucked. "I'm gonna go say hi to my dad."
I searched the kitchen first, assuming that's where he'd be. I was right once I spotted him, Edward and Caroline. "Hi Emilia!" Caroline greeted me, she was decorating a cake and Dad and Edward were handling food.
"Hi," I spoke with a smile.
"I think I've seen you more than him, it's about time my daughter finds someone who isn't scared to come around family." My dad acknowledged Rio.
Rio chuckled. "I don't see the big deal about it."
My dad smiled in response before turning to me. "You got you a good one," he said.
I chuckled while shaking my bead before grabbing a cupcake off the counter. Well it's good my dad likes him which is odd, he's hard to please and impress.
"And where is Emory? I haven't seen her, she didn't come for thanksgiving or my birthday." My father said. She had thanksgiving dinner with Dylan's family but I don't know why she didn't come for my dad's party.
"I don't know," I answered casually.
"You don't know?" he asked, staring at me while I chew a mouth full of cake.
I swallowed before replying. "I don't know," I repeated.
"Well the next time you see her, tell her I miss her and she doesn't have to be a ghost. What's with it? Both of my daughters never come see me," he said.
I rolled my eyes. "Dad I do, well I will more." I assured him and he smiled. Well at least he didn't get a hint that Emory and I are no longer speaking.
