Tris

I rest my head on Tobias' lap.

"Thanks for the pizza." I murmur.

"You're welcome." He tugs me closer, "I think somebody's sleepy."

I nod, yawning.

He jumped up suddenly, forcing me to sit up.

"Let's create a fort! You could sleep over tonight!"

I nodded slowly, not exactly comprehending what he was suggesting.

"Lets get chairs and blankets!" He looked like a carefree kid.

"Let me text Christina, okay?"

He nodded, a big smile lighting up his features.

Tris: Staying with Four.

Chris: Okay. I have to work tomorrow. Won't be home till 8. Night:)

"Okay! What do you want me to do?"

"First lets go to the gas station a few blocks down and raid them of there snacks!"

I laughed, "Okay."

We got into his car, and drove to the 7-11.

"You grab three bags of chips, I'll grab donuts and cookies."

"And Moutain Dew?" I ask.

"Of course, Mountain Dew." He replied smirking.

A few minutes later, we were back in the truck.

"The employee thought we were crazy." Tobias laughed.

"Well, running barefoot at almost a quarter till midnight, buying junk food tends to do that to people."

"Barefoot?" He glanced at my feet.

"I didn't want to wear shoes, okay?"

He laughed, "okay." He put his hands up in surrender.

When we got back to his place, we set chairs out, and then threw a blanket on top. Then, we filled the fort with piles of pillows and blankets.

We placed our snacks in the corner of the fort, and hung a flashlight so it wasn't dark.

We layed on our backs, my head on his chest.

"Now what?" I whispered.

"Hide and go seek Tag. Our fort is base."

"You count."

He closed is eyes and started counting.

I ran to the kitchen, curling into one of his cabinets.

He probably won't find me here, hopefully.

"Trissy?"

"Where are you?"

I heard him leave the kitchen and walk upstairs.

I crawled out of the cabinet, sneaking closer to the fort. Was this cheating?

Oh well.

"Found you!" He shouted behind me.

What?

I squealed and bolted toward the fort, but me being me, I run face first into a wall.

I fell backward.

A thud tells me Tobias did the same thing.

While he is dazed, I try running to the fort, but of course I fail.

He pulled me toward him.

"Gotcha ya." He murmurs.

He planted a kiss on my head.

"Let's just hangout in the fort. I'm getting tired." I muttered, curling up.

He chuckled, and scooped me up, carrying me three feet to the fort.

"Thank you for today, Tobias. It means a lot."

"Your welcome beautiful, I wish I could've helped sooner." He pulled me into his lap.

"Will it get easier?" I whisper, brokenly.

"It helps to have someone with you, to wipe every tear, and to mend each piece of your broken heart back into one."

"Did Evelyn help you?"

"So very much."

"And now you'll help me?"

"Always."

My lips curled up.

"Tobias?" I mumbled after a moment.

"Hmm?" His eyes were shut but he was smiling faintly.

"Tell me something I don't know about you."

He thought for a moment, before opening his eyes.

"I met an amazing girl at a hospital once."

"Really?" I asked, feining curiosity.

"Yep, and I talked to her for less then five minutes. Next thing I know, I had bought her house for her."

"Our house." I mutter, not realizing I spoke aloud.

"What?"

"You bought it. I kept it. Ours. I could never be more grateful for someone like you." I kissed his chest, where my head was resting.

"You kept the house? But you moved here.."

"I couldn't handle being alone in a big city, but I didn't want to get rid of the only familiarity I had."

"Sometimes it's best to let go."

"And then what?" I snapped. "Wait for every memory and moment fade into just that, a memory?"

"If you enjoyed the situation that much, it will never become just a memory. It will become an experience of the past that you just keep reliving, because you want to remember it, to never forget."

He didn't raise his voice, and I felt very childish for raising mine. He was right, in a way, it is best to let go.

The tighter you hold on, the lesser the experience is.

"I'm sorry." I say, leaning up to kiss his cheek.

He smiled at me, "It's okay. You're just exhausted. Sleep." He covered me with a blanket and kissed my head.

"Good Night." Tobias whispers.

"Night."

I drift off.

Hey. I'm going to publish a new fanfic soon. Will you read it?
