Tris

I wake up to the sound of my phone buzzing on Four's bed side table.

Luckily, it doesn't wake Four up.

I quickly and quietly get out of Four's grasp.

I grab my phone and sit gently on one of the carpeted steps. I have a message from Christina.

I can't make up my mind, should I read it or not?

The abnegation side tells me to read it, that it would be rude not to. Plus she probably doesn't even remember what happened.

Chris: Hey. Where are you? What happened? Are you okay?

I can't help but get angry that she doesn't remember. I want to say it's not her fault but it is her fault. Instead, my anger gets the best of me.

Tris: I can't believe you even have the audacity to talk to me after what you did.

Chris: I honestly don't know what I did. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have gotten that drunk.

Tris: Yeah you shouldn't have

Chris: I'm sorry. Can you at least tell me what I did?

Tris: You broke one of the biggest promises. You told everyone about what happened in highschool. You fuckin' promised Chris! I will never forgive you, and you know how afraid I am about drinking. I just can't believe you Chris.

Reliving what happened causes me to cry as quietly as I can, I don't want to wake Four up. That's not fair to him.

Chris: Tris I'm so so sorry! Can we talk about it? Please!

I dont answer because the keyboard on my phone was to blurry from my tears.

I set my phone down beside me and bury my face into my knees.

I can't help but quietly sob. The fact that my best friend broke our biggest promise, on the freakin' first night I got to Portland, is heart wrenching.

"Tris?" Four calls from the bedroom

"Yeah?"  I quickly wiped my face and tears, not wanting to show anymore weakness then I already have.

"Where are you?"

"Here!"

He walks out, his hair a sexy mess.

"What's wrong?" His voice is deep and husky from sleep.

"Nothing, I'm fine. Why?"

He sits beside me and stares into my eyes.

"Because you've been crying." He gently brings his hand to my face, and I snuggle into his hand, gently closing my eyes.

"No-No I haven't."

"Yes you have. Why?" He cocks his head to the side.

In stead of answering I show him the messages from Christina.

"She's your best friend. You can't just shut her out. Let the tension die down, stay here with me a few days. Then, go talk to her. Okay, beautiful?"

He was handsome, sweet, generous, and thoughtful. How I met him was definitely fate.

I nodded my head at him.

"So, do you want go get some clothes from your place and then go walk through Portland? Sound good?"

"Yeah, that sounds awesome. Thank you for everything." I stared into his eyes.

They were bright and filled with immense ammounts of glee.

He smiled at me, showing his beautiful teeth.

I want to tell him that I love him, but I barely know him.

But it's true. I do love him. I've already fallen head over heals for him. One might say love at first sight.

Four gently takes my hand and leads me into the kitchen.

He picks me up and places me on the counter.

"Shorty." He says teasingly.

I stick my tongue out at him.

"Pancakes sound good?"

"Only if you have chocolate chips. Those are my favorite."

"Chocolate chip pancakes. Now I know one thing about you." He says pulling the chocolate out of the cabinet.

"What's your favorite?" I question, watching him cook.

"Definently blueberry muffins."

"Now I know one thing about you." I poke his cheek.

He laughs and flings the batter covered whisk at me. Pancake batter flies everywhere.

"Four!" I screech.

"Tobias." He says .

"Huh?" Everything in the kitchen fell silent. The only sound was the fresh pancake batter sizzling on the skillet.

"My real name is Tobias. I've never told anyone my real name, and despite the fact that I just met you, I feel like I can trust you."

"You trust me that much, Tobias?"

"Of course." He smiled, a nice big smile.

"My real name is Beatrice." He laughs hard.

"It's actually really pretty, only if you were an old lady." He smirks.

"Hey!! That's mean!" But I can't help but laugh too, because it is true.

"I'm kidding. I will, for now on, call you Beatrice."

"No. Oh gosh please don't." I groan.

He laughs.

"What ever you say, Beatrice."

"Fine. I'm going to call you Toby."

"Toby? Seriously? Ew."  He's to busy staring at me to realize he put his elbow in the butter.

I burst out laughing and nod my head towards his elbow.

When he glances down, he blushes.

"Wittle Toby embarrassed." I coo.

"Put a sock in it Beatrice." I take of my sock and wave in his face.

"Eww!" He squeals and throws it across the room.

Moo

He growl and flings more batter at me.

"You know your going to have to clean up this mess." His eyes widen in realization and I laugh once again.

"Lets just eat so we can do a bunch of stuff."

And so began our day.
