Chapter 11

#11  - Stay the hell away from me

I was having quick breakfast at Lulo's cafe just opposite my building. I ordered chocolate muffins and an espresso. I'm going through the online dailysun newsfeed when the waiter brings my order , I thank her. Kabelo walks in looking fly as usual in his casual wear. I wave at him when our eyes meet but he moved his eyes around the room as if he doesn't see me. Ouch. He smiles when a tall slim beautiful lady joins him , he opens the chair for her and they sit. Mxm. I just finish my breakfast then settle the bill and walk out.

Lina is on two weeks leave and the temporary girl is just tiring. I get in my office and she's not by her desk , I dial her and instruct her to come to my office. Minutes later she barges in

Me : "GET OUT & KNOCK!"  She does so then I invite her in.

Girl : "you called for me ma'am?"

Me : "uhh...what's your name again?"

Girl : "Sisipho. Sisipho Jama."

Me : "Right Sisipho , what is your work here? What are you in this building for?"

Sisipho : "To be your personal assistant."

Me : "What does a personal assistant do?" She keeps quiet.

Me : "I got here fifteen minutes ago and I haven't gotten any run down on how my day looks like nor do I have my usual cup of lemon sweet water or coffee. Where have you been? This is not some playground or a place to socialise. If you wanna socialise then get your things and get out of my property cause you in the wrong building! I don't like incompetent people."

Sisipho : "Yes ma'am."

Me : "Get me my diary please then a cup of lemon sweet water." She nods and walks out. I dial Lina

Lina : "BossLady?"

Me : "Linamandla , please come back. I'm begging you , I swear I'll kill this girl or you might come back with me dead!"  She laughs.

Lina : "It hasn't even been two days."

Me : "I know , I know. Please help me this once. Find me someone who's really in need of a job , someone productive and energetic please."  Sisipho places my diary on the table and walks out , I shake my head.

Lina : "I'll find the best boss but not more than me." This time I laugh. We eventually cut the call.

Me : "Sisipho. You can go home , you'll receive today's payment even though you didn't do anything."

Sisipho : "Okay." She says it with so much attitude and walks out.

Me : "Drop that attitude too!"  I shout just before she closes the door.

Lunch hour. I asked the front receptionist lady to order some food for me and it was delivered right on time. I call dad while I eat.

Dad : "Simosethu esihle." Dad calls me like that.

Me : "Bab'wam , how are you?"

Dad : "I'm good my baby , how are you?"

Me : "I'm good now , I was just irritated by this new temp pa."

Dad : "What happened to the other one?"

Me : "She's on leave for two weeks and I already can't cope."  He laughs.

Dad : "Your siblings tell me n they've been tryna call you."

Me : "I know , I'm ignoring them." He chuckles.

Dad : "Okay bye baby , I have to finish work."

Me : "Okay bye."

Dad : "I love you."  My door opens and Kabelo walks in.

Me : "I love you too." He hangs up.

Me : "What are you doing here?" I ask frowning at him. He shouldn't be here especially after this morning.

Kabelo : "I came with lunch." He says smiling sheepishly.

Me : "I already have that! Why are you here?" I keep my face blank.

Kabelo : "Look Ntokazi. I'm sorry for ignoring you this morning , I was seriously grumpy and not in a good space." 

Me : "Right! Please excuse me n I have tons of work to do."

Kabelo : "The lady you saw me with was just a client of mine , I promise you and she's married." Why does that relieve me?! I'm still angry thou.

Me : "okay. Bye." He huffs and walks out after leaving the paperbag on my desk.
