Chapter 32

#32 -NARRATED!!!

Lando wakes up and notices that she's in hospital , she looks around her ward and she's alone. She touches her stomach and sighs exhaustively when she feels that her stomach isn't hard anymore which meant she wasn't pregnant anymore. A doctor walks in and frowns looking at her.

Doctor : "uh hi Mrs Ngubane." She nods.

Doctor : "forgive me for the face I made , I'm just shocked. You are actually in the ICU ward." She zones out as he continues talking and explaining everything.

Doctor : "Ma'am?" She looks at him. "Are you Okay? Can you hear me?" She nods. He sighs deeply then walks out , he comes back with Muzi.

Muzi : "Simosethu esihle?" She just looks at him.

Muzi : "Baby I almost lost you and my grandkids. Do you want to see them?"  She stares at him and nods. They put her in a wheelchair and wheel her to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Muzi : "Those are your twin girls baby. You had twins." Lando quietly stares at her two daughters that have the same features as their father and her skin color. They looked so small and fragile which broke her heart even more. How was she even gonna do this without her husband who was so excited to meet her daughter , well daughters now.

Lando : "Sukoluhle Mbewenhle & Melintwenhle Siphosethu Ngubane." Muzi smiles sadly squeezing his daughter's shoulder as a way of comfort. The nurse writes the babies names down and labels their beds.

Later on Kabelo's grandmother and Aunt Phindi come to visit a distraught Lando who has been staring into space for sometime , not noticing that she had people in her room.

MaShandu : "Mntanam." She says softly touching her shoulder , Lando slowly turns to them and smiles faintly.

Phindi : "Your husband is out of coma and it's all thanks to your brother." Lando's tears gush out. MaShandu hugs her as she cries silently and her sobs eventually turn into loud wails. An alarmed Muzi runs inside the ward , his heart breaks for his daughter.

MaShandu : "Let it all out my baby." She eventually calms down.

Lando : "I'm tired. It seems impossible to have peace in my life. It is battles after battles , I never get time to recover from all the hard blows the world throws at me ; I just have to put on my big girl panties and continue to fight. I also want to have a happy and peaceful life for once nje nakimi. I'm seriously tired!" She wails again.

MaShandu : "Baby , that's just how life is. One day all this fighting will be worth it and you'll be thankful that you sent thought everything you are going through right now. I'm sorry that it's too much for you , I really am. But trust me something good and big is about to come your way. You now a mother of three so you have to do it for your kids."

Lando : "Why do I have to do it all alone? Why do I have to suffer all alone? Everything is my responsibility now and I don't even know where am I gonna start with two newborn babies all alone. I was ready when Kabelo was here but now he's laying half dead on that bed , I can't. I don't want to do it all without him. Do you know how over the moon he was when we found out I was pregnant? Now some people just wanna play Jesus and end our lives? Cha!" She says all this crying with hiccups in between.
