"Talking of secrets, I spoke to Reg on Friday. You all know the concern I have about him at the moment." Sirius sighed to the group, but looked directly at me.

My interest spiked. I gave him an empathetic look, knowing how much meaning was held in that sigh. Remembering how conflicted he felt when he came to see me about him, how he said he'd have to mourn his brother if he made the wrong choice.

"He wouldn't tell me anything. He's become quite secretive, for a while now so...it felt like nothing new but he's real moody. Like not normal guy moody, there's definitely something dark going on." Sirius smiled sadly, as if he was saying he didn't need to be told much from Regulus to understand what was beginning to happen. What we were all assuming was.

"I'm sorry to hear that, mate." James said. Patting Sirius' back.

"Don't give up on him yet. He loves you." I said.

"And you love him, mate. Trust Arty. We all went through a rough patch." Remus added.

Sirius slowly nodded and shrugged it off.

"Only time will tell, I suppose." He said, taking a bit sip of his drink.

The rest of us looked at each other with a sense of sadness for him. Sirius had always worried and cared deeply for Regulus, to not be getting a similar feeling from his brother must have felt devastating at times. I knew better than his friends because I knew how lovely Regulus could be. How being moody wasn't particularly in his nature, he was just reserved and some people interpreted that as a type of sensitivity.

"I have good news if it lifts the spirit?" James offered. Looking around for a clue on whether he should share or not...surprisingly, as he doesn't appear to have a track record of thinking before speaking.

We all nodded.

"I, James Potter, have a girlfriend. As of last night. Officially." He smirked, congratulating himself on the officially part.

"What?!" We all said in unison.

"AND," he emphasised and paused for effect.

"It's Lily Evans." He said with utmost pride.

"WHAT?!" Remus and I said again, even more shocked and higher pitched.

"I knew it!" Sirius said instead, quite aggressively pointing at James. Clenching his teeth together and shaking his fist as if his favourite quidditch team had won a game.

"We've been dating for about five months. She hasn't want to put a label on it but um, she asked me." He nodded extremely chuffed with himself.

"She asked you? I love that." I smiled for him.

Sirius and Remus sat there pretty much speechless.

"I thought you guys were just shagging. You're easy, innit." Sirius said bewildered.

"I'm not easy. I'm in love." James said offended.

"Honestly," Remus began.
"I never thought this day would come. I thought we'd all die with you guys still being an inside joke." He admitted.

"Well, it's not a joke anymore. She's my girlfriend. She asked me. Lily Evans, asked me to be her boyfriend. Me!" He repeated, almost shocked himself but beaming with a big grin.

"I was actually surprised when I found out you guys hadn't got together at school, after I left." I admitted. Not feeling overly shocked, just shocked at the timing.

"Aw, Art...that's nice! But I fucking wish." James laughed.

"So, what you've been secretly dating all this time and hadn't mention a thing?" Remus looked suspicious, still not entirely believing him.
