We stayed frozen in that position for a good minute. Neither of us said anything but just looked at each other. His eyes bore holes into mine and I was thankful that he was holding onto me for the sheer fact if he let go- I'd probably faint. I had spent a year and a half missing the arms that I was currently in. And these arms were totally different.
They were more defined and tanned. He had tattoos I had never seen before on them. They were much stronger and I could tell by his grip. I couldn't believe what was going on in my life. We just looked at each other and waited for the other to say something. Anything.
"Have you been together this whole time?"
"Are you two engaged?"
"Is it true Tina is pregnant?"
"Are you back together?"
The questions kept coming but I wasn't listening anymore. I was staring intently at those green eyes that I had missed so much. At some point, both of us stopped blinking and it was an intense staring match. Harry snapped out of it and quickly looked between me and the growing crowd. He quickly gave the paparazzi a smile and forced me to follow him. Harry pulled on arm without warning. He practically shoved me in the elevator as the doors closed. The buzzing and shouting stopped as the elevator descended upwards and we were left alone in it. I watched him as he pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration.
"This is fucking great," he said quietly. I wasn't sure if he was speaking to me or not so I decided to keep my mouth shut. "Of course this happens. Why else wouldn't it? The fucking universe is just-" he let out a grunt of frustration. His voice was so low and sultry. I closed my eyes and listened. His voice was like music to my ears. Music I had been missing for over a year. "You just had to fucking come back and ruin everything! This all your damn fault!" This time I knew he was talking to me. My eyes snapped open at the realization that he was waiting on my to answer.
I felt my jaw drop but I quickly shut it as I retaliated, "My fault? How the hell is this my fault? You ran into me!" Now, I wasn't sure if that was the case but I might as well blame him since he was set on blaming me for everything. "I never asked for this. I never asked for you to come back into my life after you so happily left."
"Happily left?" His hands were in fists as he struggled not to bang on the walls of the elevator. "You think wanted it?"
"Do you think I did? Do you think I enjoyed the hell you put me through? If I could go back and change one thing in my life it would be to have never met you." The words came out faster than I could think them. He looked at me as the words registered in my head. I wanted to take them back but the hurt expression that passed his face felt like sweet revenge. As quick as it came, it was gone: his features turning ice cold.
"I never knew you could be such a bitch."
"I never knew you could be such a dick."
"The fuck did you say to me?" He took a step closer to me, causing me to take one back. But a step could only take you so far in a small elevator and my back hit the wall.
"It's only fair since you called me a bitch." My response caused him to shut his mouth. "You have no right to say I ruined everything." I tried my hardest to keep my voice from shaking. My emotions were heightened and I was a second away from letting them loose. "You have no right to say anything to me at all."
He opened his mouth but was cut off when his phone started ringing. He backed up from me and answered it. "What is it now, Niall?" He sighed. "I- Fuck. Fine." He snapped the phone and shoved it back in his skin tight jeans. "You're coming with me. Simon has called us to have a emergency meeting."
