We were two deer caught in headlights. I had half the mind to push Harry away from me but I was frozen in time. This was a Mission In Possible gone terrible wrong. Basically, we were two kids with our hands in the cookie jar but our cookie jars were each other's mouth... And the hands were our tongues.
"Holy fuck," They said with a sharp intake of breath. Suddenly the door closed, but we stayed frozen in time. The door swung open again by the same person and they just repeated their gasp. "You- I- Holy-" They stammered. Before I had the chance to untangle myself, Harry moved so his body was covering me.
"Mate-"
"When the fuck did this happen?" At first, his voice peaked but he suddenly hushed himself. Then, the closet became even tighter when he stepped inside. His voice increasing octaves but he forced himself into a whisper. "And we couldn't tell me? Me of all people? When the fuck?! How the fuck? Who else knows? Chrissy, what- Haz-" They were in a tizzy and I couldn't help but smile into Harry's back. It dawned on who had discovered us. I stood on my tippy-toes to look over Harry's shoulder.
Louis's brown hair was being pushed off his forehead as he ran both hands up the side of his head. His gaze caught my eyes and he narrowed his eyes. "You sly fox," he started but Harry held us hands up. "In a good way-" Louis began correcting himself.
"Mate," Harry tried to calm him down but his voice gave it away that he was on the verge of laughing. "It's under-wraps-"
"Clearly, you're under each other but-"
"You are the only one that knows and we'd like to keep it that way for a moment. It's..." Harry trailed off. He looked over his shoulder and look at me. "We're working through it."
"I still get to be godfather right?" Louis's comment made me instantly blush and I had to look away from Harry. Harry chuckled as he looked back at Louis.
"Yeah, mate. Just don't spill the beans." Harry's comment made me blush even harder. I tried not to read into it... But did Harry see a future that involved kids? He was probably just trying to get Louis to clam down but now my heart was racing at the thought. I was thankful I was blocked by his large stature.
Louis clicked his tongue and sighed. "You two kill me, I swear. Thankfully it was me who found you and not Niall... or Zayn. You'd never hear the end of it." Louis stated proudly, like he was honestly any better. King Louis could be the worst secret keeper. But I am glad it wasn't Niall because I know he still feels like our relationship isn't what it used to be. I feel awful keeping it a secret from Niall but things with Harry were progressing so weirdly I have no idea what to say. Maybe I would have to tell Niall soon in private.
"Well, we better get back..." Harry trailed off. I kept a sad sigh from rolling off my lips.
"To making out?" Louis snorted. "No, but we are leaving soon. I actually was sent to track you down... You guys kind of suck at this." Louis's comment earned a playful punch Harry. "Oh Haz, I hope you're not so brutal to your lady," he gripped his arm dramatically. "Let me check the coast," Louis offered. He slowly opened the door and peeked his head out. This must've been the strangest sight for anyone walking by. Louis stepped out and closed the door. I heard him cough and try to sneakily say between coughs, "You're clear, eagles."
Harry turned back around and looked down at me. He was biting him bottom lip to keep from smiling widely. "Oops." I smiled back up at him.
"Oops."
Harry's laugh trailed off as he looked down at me. He leaned back in and planted a soft kiss on my lip, lingering for a second. He smelled heavenly and I felt myself melt into the tender kiss. As he slowly pulled away, his lips brushed past my cheek. "See you out there, kid." Suddenly I was left without his warm touch. He opened the closet and stepped out. I followed shortly, trying to keep my breathing steady. Stop blushing, I yelled internally.
