It was a nice day, the grass green and luscious, a slight breeze blowing through the trees. Jisung held Minho's hand, their fingers laced together as they took slow steps across the grass.
Some birds were chirping but the world was very quiet around them. On the other hand, Jisung had a blanket and Minho holding a bag with a subway for them to eat.
Stopping at the foot of the grave Minho felt his heart break even more than before. There were flowers in the urn, new ones Minho thinks but he hadn't been there for a while, unable to face the smiling photo of his fallen friend.
It was a good picture of him, smiling widely with his fluffy black hair a subdued mess. Minho barely remembers offering the picture from his camera roll when Jeongin's parents were in search of a good photo.
"Are you alright?" Jisung asked tentatively, gently squeezing Minho's hand. Minho nodded and dropped Jisung's hand, grabbing the blanket and helping the younger one lay it out.
Minho didn't really know what to say. He had no excuse for not visiting sooner and for not letting himself mourn the passing of his friend properly. They two sat on the outstretched blanket together.
"I actually would come here often, it was the only place I found peace for a while. I would cry here, talk to him, pretend I was ok even though I wasn't. Sometimes I swear I can hear him telling me that I will figure it out..." JIsung had soft tears rolling down his cheeks when he trailed off. Minho leaned his head on Jisung's shoulder, doing his best to show the younger he was there.
"This is my first time since the funeral... I should feel bad but I don't think I could stop coming any sooner or alone" Minho admitted. Jisung rested a hand on the olders thigh, feeling warm and comforting.
"I don't blame you, today makes the one year at least you came today," Minho wasn't looking but he knew Jisung was smiling at him. He laced their fingers together once again, their intertwined hands resting on top of Minho's leg.
"I think we have an hour alone with him before the circus shows up," Minho jokes, lifting the mood enough for them to breathe easy again.
"Felix too?" Jisung asked, Minho could feel the nervous energy radiating off him in waves. Minho nodded his head against Jisung's shoulder.
"He said that Chan went on a mental health retreat to some rehabilitation center, apparently the antidepressants he was taking were royally fucking up his mind," Minho explained. Jisung breathes with bated breath.
"I just hope he gets better," Jisung admitted, "Medication is not something to mess around with"
They sat in silence for another moment of time, Minho being the one to break it by taking their sandwiches out of the bag. He passes Jisung him, the guy kissing his cheek as a thank you.
"Here IN-ah, have a pickle," Minho pulled a pickle out of his sandwich and tossed it onto the grass next to the gravestone. Jisung snorted.
"Did you really just quote a Tik Tok at our friend's grave?" Jisung asked. Minho shrugged.
"Jeongin would have laughed"
"You are right he had a dumb sense of humor"
"As I live and breathe, is that Han Jisung?" the deep timber of Felix echoed from the two's left. Both of them turned to see a smiling Felix followed by a blushing Changbin. Immediately Jisung was off the floor and sprinting into Felix's arms.
"Great now I lost my boyfriend," Minho said sarcastically, patting the blanket in front of him for Changbin to sit.
"Never Min, you just got me!" Jisung sat close enough that he was basically in Minho's lap. Felix sitting next to Changbin and lovingly taking his hand.
"Can I return you?" Minho asked, wrapping up the last bit of his sandwich and putting it away, doing the same with Jisungs next.
"You would never!" Jisung was always dramatic, Minho missed it.
"I have Taeyong's number," Minho pointed out. Felix giggled into his free hand.
"He won't take me back and you know it" Minho rolled his eyes.
"God you guys are like an old married couple, poor IN had to deal with you alone before we arrived," Changbin threw a look at the gravestone behind him. Felix smiled softly at the stone himself.
"Wait..." Felix trailed off, pointing to the throne pickle, "Who was sharing with Innie?" he asked. Minho's red cheeks gave him away, Jisung being no help as he pointed at the older man.
He grabbed Jisung's hand glaring at the mischievous younger. Jisung just kept his lips pulled into a happy grin.
And Minho couldn't be happier.
