chapter 3

I was on a flight to Thailand. 

The one place I always wanted to go, visit , and sightsee

To experience  where my mother grew up and was raised 

But I am now dreading it with all my heart while on this flight 

It took a week  for me to finally be on this flight, especially because after everything that happened the evening of the funeral 

Because after the whole confession of who my real father was Del and her family had asked the man to leave for could not come to terms with me leaving 

the mystery man agreed and had told us he would talk to us in a couple of days. 

Del's mother, auntie Ahn ,scurried to call her brother to have him come down to help with this situation and to make sure my biological father could not take me away

they so desperately wanted me to stay here with them, and to not leave their side 

During this whole situation I remember it as blurs, because I wished this was all a dream, and that I would wake up soon 

______ the day of the meet up______

When the day came where we would be up with the other lawyer ,we had decided to meet in a private office to make sure all of this was on the down low 

The only people allowed were the lawyers, del's parents, and I

"I am Kit Wongnate, and I will be representing Katherine Chanthara" said Del's uncle 

"Alright Mr. Wongnate" said the mystery man 

"I am Ritthirong Panya, and I will be representing the Theerapanyakul family"

we all sat down and the conversation 

" Katherine needs to be under the custody of her father Khorn Theerapanyakul. She is considered a minor not only in the states but also in Thailand. She needs to leave to Thailand immediately"

"With all due respect Mr.Panya, is there even evidence that your client is the biological father of Katherine ? For all we know you might be lying to take her far away"

"I thought you would say that, that is why I came prepared with evidence of a paternity test" Mr. Panya said 

He took out the said results and slid them over to Kit 

I sat there in shock wondering when and how these test were even done without my knowledge 

"This paternity test states that  Katherine is the daughter of my client, which gives the evidence that she is his daughter. Katherine has to be with her father"

"Katherine is  17 years old, and not once has your client ever reached out to her or her mother. She never knew her father was even alive, so why now? why does she need to leave her home and go live with someone she has no idea of. " 

"Katherine's mother had come to my client to tell her about the child she was pregnant with, but then when my client would not agree to leave his wife, at that time, then she decided to leave Thailand with  their child.  " 

"My mother would not do that." I finally decided to speak up 

I would not allow them to talk badly of  my mother, especially to make a man they call my father look like he did everything in his power

"But she did sweet Katherine" Mr.Panya said with a creepy smile

"Your mother was not happy of the situation so she decided to leave Thailand. She decided to punish your father for not agreeing to leave his wife, and marry her. Your mother left Thailand and hid because she knew if she stepped foot in Thailand then  your father's people would come after her and take you away."
