Ch.25

a/n: i am on spring break yayyyy!!

Katherine POV

"Katherine.." The first word read, I turned around and looked at Sean who was still standing right behind me.

"What's wrong?" he asked

"I opened it on accident" i said with the phone still in my hand

"Do you need to sit down?" he asked with a worried face.

"I don't know... maybe?" i said

"Okay.. um let's sit" Sean said, as he grabbed me by the shoulders and maneuvered me towards the sitting area in my bedroom.

"Okay sit here, and I'll ask Neo to get you a drink" he said as he sat me down

I nodded, my phone was on my lap, the screen had turned black, and I still hadn't looked at the other text messages Del had sent.

I wasn't sure how long I sat there, nor when Sean placed a drink in front of me

"Hey kath, snap out of it" He said in a gentle voice, "Here have a sip of your drink"

I snapped out of this small trance I was in when I felt a straw on my lips.

My head went back a bit, trying to catch up to my surroundings, and what was going on.

I focused on Sean, as he was the person who was trying to put a straw between my lips.

"What are you doing?" I asked him with furrowed brows, as I proceeded to take a sip of the drink he had in front of me.

"You were zoned out there Kath. " he said as he moved the drink away

"Hey, i was drinking that" i said

"Glad a chai latte helped" he chuckled as he handed me the drink back.

I shrugged as i continue to take another sip,

"The straw being poked at my lips is what got me out of the trance, not really the shrink" I said as I gave my drink back to Sean to set it on the table.

"So, are you going to read the rest of the message Del sent you or do you need a few more business days?" he asked trying to lighten the mood up

I took a moment to respond, I knew I could run away from this but knew what was best.

"I'll read them, just stay here with me Sean." I said

He nodded, and sat next to me, giving me support

"It reads.." i took a deep breathe a continued

"Katherine...Are you okay?"

That was the first bubble message

Del had sent me many, and I continued to read each and every message out loud to sean.

"I haven't heard from you since you left. I was worried.. My parents are worried, all of our friends have been worried"

"Please reply"

"Kath. I'm not mad at you, please know that."

"Please just tell me youre okay, that's all I need to know. That you're fine, and your new family is treating you well"

That was all the messages for that day but she continued to reach out the next couple of days, asking the same questions, asking me to reach out.

"I miss you Kath, I really do. I want the best for you, and know youre fine but you're ready, know ill be here for you always"
