Mr. Park entered his office. Jimin trailed behind. He quietly closed door. He found his dad seated behind his mahogany study table. He marched closer and stood in front. He wringed his hands behind him.
"Do you think I'm stupid to not know?" He started.
Jimin looked up at him.
"I know who he is to you!" He yelled.
Jimin startled. He bowed down again.
"Why did you bring him here? Open your mouth and answer!"
"I am...going to introduce him to you." He said, voice shaking. "As my boyfriend."
There was a loud thud as his dad hardly hit his palm on the table.
"Don't embarrass yourself and don't shame your family!"
Jimin's tears started to stream down his face.
"I know you. You're my son. You try and do things you feel like doing but you lose interest in them eventually."
"Dad, this is different." He said in a small voice.
"How is it different?!" Mr. Park bellowed.
"This is not something I just wanted to try. It's me." He sobbed.
"Kids get confused. You thought that's who you are. But this is just a phase. It will go away. You'd go back to normal. Just do not nurture it."
He cannot speak anymore. He just bawled.
"Do not do this to our family! What would people say?! This will ruin our reputation!"
"You will break up with him and you will never see him again." Jimin looked up. "Or I will disown you. I do not have a child who is gay! You won't see your mother again. I will cut off your allowance. I will take your car. You will fend off for yourself. Let's see if you can finish your studies. You will be nothing without us."
Jimin collapsed on the floor crying.
"Stop this madness. Go back to normal. You know you'll only regret if you don't. You'll regret choosing him."
Mr. Park stood up and marched towards him. He stood next to him.
"Stand up." He commanded.
Jimin immediately did as he was told. He put his hands on both of his shoulders.
"Since you're the only child I have. I will forgive this idiocy of yours. But you're going to end it right now. Tonight. I will watch you do it." He said harshly.
Jimin slowly staggered towards the garden where Yoongi was waiting. He didn't have to ask. Everything was evident with how Jimin appeared. His face was blotchy and reddened. His eyes were swollen. He was wiping his nose with the back of his hand. Yoongi steeled himself because he was about to hear what he was expecting.
"I'm sorry. I can't introduce you." Jimin started.
Yoongi bobbed. "He knows?"
It was Jimin's turn to nod. He tried to speak but he was getting choked with his sobs.
"He asked you to end it?" Yoongi sniffed. His eyes were getting obscured.
Jimin just bawled.
"We can still date in secret." Yoongi quietly suggested.
He shook his head. "We can't. I can't. I can't disobey dad. My life will be hard without them."
Yoongi knew that what he was saying is true. They are still young. They can't support each other financially. He can choose to believe all that sappy 'you and me against the world' shit. But he understood reality. They can't eat love. Love can't send them to school. It cannot pay their bills.
