"How did you miss that?!" Mr. Kim's thunderous voice echoed in the office.
"I'm really sorry. I have no excuse." Seokjin bowed deep in front of his father.
"Do you know how much we lost because of your recklessness?!"
"I know, father. I'm really sorry."
"What is happening to you? Whatever, or whoever, that is that's making you distracted, stop it right now or you're going to regret it."
Seokjin clenched his jaw at the mention of the word 'whoever'. His dad had an idea of what he's doing. He needs to stop.
Taehyung was called inside soon after Seokjin left. He walked in and told his father what he needed to know. He learned what his brother was up to, a few days after knowing that his marriage was about to crumble. He knew everything. Including the reason why Jisoo wanted a divorce. He does not intend to help his father save their marriage. He thought it's better to set both of them free.
He passed by a flower shop to buy a bouquet of purple cosmos and Italian asters on his way home. He was proud that he's now able to remember her favorite color. When he arrived home, his family was already settled down at the dining table. He put the bouquet on the console table along the foyer. Seokjin, as always, did not come in time for dinner. Their father snorted when his wife asked about the whereabouts of his eldest son.
When their parents left, Taehyung handed Jisoo the bouquet.
She beamed while accepting. "What is this for?" She asked.
"Because I want to see you happy." He softly answered.
Taehyung called Jungkook later that night. With everything that was going on with his family and the new responsibilities he had in the company, it was becoming harder to regularly catch up with him. Their fourth month apart proved utterly more difficult. However, he felt lucky that Jungkook is really patient and understanding.
"Baby." Taehyung noticed that Jungkook's face was getting slimmer.
"Babe, how are you?" He put his pen down to look at him.
"What are you doing? Did you have your dinner?"
"Later. After I finish this." He felt sad seeing that his cheekbones looked more prominent.
"What's that?"
"My repertoire for a degustation. I'd be really busy for the next couple of days. I might not be able to reply immediately."
"It's okay. Don't mind me. You should eat right now, baby. You lost so much weight."
"I'm al"— He yawned. "—most done." His tired, sunken eyes moistened.
"I'm sorry for keeping you up last night. I should not have called anymore."
"It's alright. I want to talk to you too."
Taehyung looked up to the sky. "There are only a few stars seen here."
"It's raining here right now. How's the proposal you're working on?"
Taehyung was about to answer when he saw a stumbling figure trying to get out of a car on the streets below. He squinted his eyes to see better.
"Babe, there's just something I have to do." He rushed to tell him.
Jungkook noticed the panic in his voice. "Okay."
Taehyung ran down the stairs and out of the house to get to Seokjin who was now sitting on the ground, completely drunk. He only noticed Hoseok standing beside him when he got closer.
