Jungkook neatly fixed the folds of Taehyung's collar as the elder stared at him. Then he straightened his tie and lightly dusted his waistcoat with his fingers.
"How's the most handsome man doing? Nervous?" He asked smiling.
"I'm not sure. Are you nervous?" Taehyung asked back.
Jungkook giggled. "Seriously. Are you nervous?"
"A little." He sighed. "Okay. A lot. What if this business fails? We'll go bankrupt, love." He worried.
Jungkook held each of Taehyung's shoulders. "It's just the soft launch. We'll see in the coming days. But if it does happen, let's just take step back and see where we went wrong so we can think of a remedy."
"How are you so calm and relaxed?"
"I just try to be. I'm on edge too. But I'm here for you. Whenever you're worried, you just look at me there." Jungkook pointed to the kitchen.
Taehyung smiled and nodded.
"Everything is going to turn out fine." Jungkook softly reminded.
Taehyung reached out and folded the sleeves of his fiancé's chef coat. "I still don't think people seeing you sweating is a good idea. I can't believe Namjoon hyung tricked me into approving an open kitchen."
"It's our gimmick. Seeing the cool, handsome chef cook is part of the dining experience." Namjoon interrupted.
"How long have you been there?! Why do you keep on springing up?!" Taehyung complained.
"Don't act like you're the one who got traumatized. That's me! With what I witnessed happening in the kitchen." He harshly rubbed his eyes.
"You said you're going to leave!"
"I said I'm going to. I didn't say I left already!"
Jungkook was just there, scratching his head and fighting the embarrassment.
"What's happening? The co-owners are fighting already?" Yoongi asked, in tow was a curious Jimin.
"Don't tell them!" Taehyung shouted.
"What is it?" Jimin huddled closer to Jungkook. "We want to know!"
"Nothing. I have to go. I'm needed in the...kitchen." Jungkook quickly walked away without looking back.
"Sus." Yoongi commented as they watched Jungkook escape. "Now, I'm curious too."
Namjoon glanced at Taehyung who mouthed at him with a 'don't you dare'.
"It's nothing." Namjoon smiled.
Taehyung subtly heaved a sigh of relief. "You two are early. The opening's in two hours."
"We're bored. We want to watch you be anxious." Yoongi replied.
"That's not..." Jimin shook his head and shut his eyes. "We're here to give them moral support."
Then came the longest and busiest day Taehyung and Jungkook had in a while. The soft launch of Jamais vu drew a lot of people, mostly clienteles of Dionysus. Taehyung went around and greeted familiar faces as well as the new ones. Jungkook worked with grace despite the pressure. He only had a few minutes to rest and breathe and when he does, he would often catch sight of Taehyung's loving eyes staring back at him wherever he was in the area. Then, they'd exchange tender smiles and encouraging nods.
Hoseok discreetly glanced at their mother who was silently watching the two.
"Mom, why aren't you eating?"
