Liam's father wasn't always a bad guy.

When the siblings were younger, he always carried them all together

He did love his kids... And he ignored that Liam didn't look a bit like him, saying it was genetics

He'd put his son on his shoulders and walk around with him, taking him on walks, teaching him how to play football and they even fixed a car together

The issues first started when it came the time where Liam was asked what he'd like to be at University

He, hesitated before he said he'd like to be a lawyer

The issue? All the Payne's were doctors

Mr. Payne tried to persuade his son, but in the end, gave up and believed that his son had the right to do what he wanted

Yet, one day, during Liam's mother brought home a coworker

Liam was confused as he was coming home from the movies with his siblings when he saw his mother sobbing

He saw his father angrily standing and his mother's coworker standing there with his head down

His sisters (who are both doctors) looked and immediately cringed

Then in an hour, his life completely changed

His father wasn't his father, and the man made his feelings obvious

When Liam's mother left, she wanted to take him, but one hand out stopped her and she didn't argue, taking the money in the divorce before she ran

And since then? Liam hasn't seen or heard a thing from his mother

No matter how much he tried calling, how much he tried to ask her for help, she'd just... Ignore him

Last Liam heard from his mother's parents? She married her coworker.

Both of Liam's sisters hugged him, they were quick and barely lasted a second before they disappeared into their rooms

Liam was lying on his bed with his eyes closed when the door burst open

His eyes quickly opened up and he quickly stood up seeing his father walk into his room

He nodded for Liam to follow him, and Liam tensed up, but silently followed

It was 5 days later that Zayn got another call from Liam, he jumped up and quickly answered

"Liam"

Liam's voice was hoarse as he spoke "I'm about to do something stupid" he said then laughed "You don't like stupid"

Zayn smiled weakly "I happen to like you kind of stupid" His smile fell "Where are you?"

Zayn heard a loud bang and Liam quickly rushed out

"My father's house, but don't come, I'll-"

Before Liam could finish, Zayn heard shouting, it was loud, and it made him feel like he was there

He heard a loud 'I'M SORRY' before the line cut

Having a doctor for a father feels like a war zone for Liam.

Because he can't say anything to anyone, who would believe him if he did?

The heart surgeon who worked 28 hours just so a patient would live, a father who kept Liam as his son after the scandal.

Liam could do, with all the proof, and he'd get a pat on the back while being told

'Your father went through a lot, you shouldn't judge him for what he's currently feeling.'

And Liam felt like he's officially gone crazy

Liam was sitting at the dinner table, but he wasn't eating. He had a full plate in front of him, but his throat hurt too much to eat

One of his sisters was talking to their father while the other was frowning at Liam

They didn't like to sadden or anger their father, they loved him too much.

Liam didn't care, he cleared his throat then cringed and his sister looked at him then at their father, she looked at his empty plate then at him again

"Dad, can we talk privately outside for a minute once you're done?"

He frowned "Sure"

They both stood up and walked out, Liam's other sister turned to him looked at the bruises around his neck, and held his hand

"What did he use?"

"His hand, he saw me using my phone, then a rope to keep me in place"

She sighed "Why don't you just listen?" She whispered

Liam pulled away and "No, no I always listened. If he wanted to tie me up and that I was that much of a bother he could've let me stay away"

"And to stay with your boyfriend, no doubt"

Liam and his sister both turned toward their father, Liam tensed almost instantly

"What about it?"

"Listen here, I don't care what you want when I say you come here, you put your head down and you come here"

Liam shook his head "No... You don't want me here, why do you even want me to come back if my existence just angers you"

He laughed, but it sent shivers down Liam's spine

"Didn't I do enough for you? I took care of you, I paid for your education, put clothes on your back-"

Liam shook his head and stood up "You stopped being my father the second those blood tests came out" He stepped away from the table "You were a fucking doctor, you know that I don't control my biology"

"Don't talk to me like that"

Liam laughed "I'll talk to you, however, the fuck I want, you aren't my father"

That was the final straw, the next thing Liam saw, was his father jumping on him and they both fell

With his hands, a tight grip on Liam's neck, he raised his elbow to his father's face and hit him

But only a howl of pain, his grip only got harder. Liam heard screaming and his vision started to blur

And the last thing he saw were flashing red and blue lights before everything went dark
