Chapter Forty Six: The Battle of New Dawn

Six hours had passed since the Allied Forces left San Francisco and headed for Death Valley and now they had arrived. They were quick to discover that it was a place that truly lived up to its name. The desert was a scorching wasteland with not a single tree or flower to be seen and the skull of an animal could be seen in the distance. Many of the soldiers in the Allied Forces had heard about how Death Valley was the hottest place on Earth and it was a nightmare to behold. Sweat was raining down from the faces of the soldiers who were almost constantly drinking water from their flasks just to keep cool, but they stayed focused as a deadly battle was about to take place. 

On the side of one of the mountains in Death Valley was a large metal door that was the size of three houses stacked on top of each other and was as wide as the Titanic. Cornering the entrance to New Dawn were the five thousand soldiers of the Phoenix Militia dressed in civilian clothes with bullet proof vests and equipped with AK-47s, the five thousand soldiers of the Peacekeepers Unit dressed in Police Riot gear and wielding M118 assault rifles and the American Tribal Warriors who were shirtless, covered in war paint and equipped with shotguns. They numbered fifteen thousand in total and were well outnumbered by the fifty thousand soldiers that made up the Legion of the Unity Order. The Peacekeepers had brought mech suits with them and inside of each suit was a Peacekeeper, Militiaman or Warrior who was prepared for battle with the Legion and determined to stop the Unity Order's plans for global genocide.

The soldiers were aiming their rifles at the entrance to New Dawn and from the Mobile HQ behind the Army, Bridge Winters said through a megaphone "To the cabal of carnage known as the Unity Order: My name is Bridge Winters, Alpha Phoenix of the First Phoenix Alliance and commander of the army you see assembled before you today. By now you have probably noticed that the St Peters Virus is gone and that that we surround the only exit out of New Dawn. Your plans of genocide are over. You are guilty of aiding and abetting terrorist organisations, kidnapping, unethical experimentation, mass murder, fraud, Human rights violations, interference with the Democratic system and global genocide. Your actions have caused the deaths of approximately seven billion people and you cannot escape the consequences of your actions. I know that you think you can defeat us because you outnumber us by fifty thousand troops compared to our fifteen thousand soldiers. But the truth is that we have a weapon that will cause those soldiers to drop dead with the push of a button. The battle will be lost regardless of what you do. So I'm giving you a choice: surrender now, lower your weapons and come out with your hands up... Or we will be forced to use this weapon and unleash the weapons of war upon you. I strongly insist you come out now and surrender yourselves. You included Damon Adams".

Inside of the control room at the top of New Dawn was the Executive Committee and its leader, Supreme Warden Damon Adams. Who angrily stood up and slammed the button on the control panel in front of him that activated the speakers around the entrance to New Dawn and said through the microphone "I don't know who you are Bridge and I don't know how you figured all of this out. But understand that if its a war you want, then its a war your gonna get!" 

The doors then started to open and inside the huge hanger bay containing all sorts of vehicles and supplies that the Unity Order were going to use to terraform and colonise Death Valley were thirty thousand of the soldiers of the Legion and they had their guns aimed at the Allied Forces in front of them. Adams was sure that the Order would win, but he was proven wrong when Bridge said through the megaphone "Looks like you have made your decision". Bridge turned to Phinehas at the computer console inside the Command Truck and said "Activate the microchips Phinehas". Phinehas obliged and pressed the enter button on his keyboard, activating the microchips inside of the soldiers and deactivating the ones inside of the Worthy. Just as the soldiers of the Legion were about to fire upon the Allied Forces, around twelve and a half thousand of them felt a sharp and hellish pain from behind their left ears and screamed as they felt themselves dying. Their bodies began to transmute into a thick red sludge as blood poured out of every opening in their heads. The other soldiers had shocked looks on their face and it took them a few seconds to notice that the Allied Forces had started shooting at them. As all of this was happening, Adams noticed what was going on and yelled "They have access to our microchips? How the hell do they have access to our microchips!?"
