It had been three days since the discovery of the Antivirus and it was now ready for release. After almost half a week of analysis and testing, the Virology Department of the Scientist Directorate had confirmed that the Antivirus worked and had cleared it for use. Anna, Phinehas and over a dozen other survivors had been injected with the Antivirus and They were confirmed cured of the St Peters Virus. The fact that the Antivirus had been cleared for release greatly increased morale throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and gave the people something They hadn't had since the days before the Fall: hope. It felt like the Pandemic truly was ending and that a new era was dawning for Humanity. Needless to say, all 500,487 citizens were overjoyed that They would be saved from the St Peters Virus re-emergence and yes, a census had been conducted and the remaining population had been identified. According to the three most powerful factions in the Bay Area, there were 300,000 people in San Francisco and 100,000 people in both Oakland and Silicon Valley each. With over half a million citizens, this made the Bay Area one of the most populated places in the nation once known as the United States and more people were coming every day to make the Bay Area Their new home. It had become a joyous and hopeful time for the Bay Area and talks were in place for a potential unification of the First Phoenix Alliance, Scientist Directorate and the American Tribe. They were all different ideologically speaking, but technically speaking They were quite similar. They all wanted to rebuild the World, They just had different ways of doing so. But in the end, They all had something that They had to do in order to save the World and that was to release the Antivirus.
The Coit Tower was the chosen site. Mainly because it was where the leaders of all three factions had first met and joined forces to stop the St Peters Virus from re-emerging. Gathered around the tower and the streets surrounding it were over fifteen thousand people from all over the Bay Area and cameramen were recording the event for future generations to witness in the years to come. Gathered around the fountain were the canisters containing the now airborne Antivirus. The Scientist Directorate had managed to convert it into an airborne agent that could be released with ease. The scans showed that the Antivirus would spread across the whole globe in a matter of hours, maybe days. But the end result would be the obliteration of the St Peters Virus and the saving of the Human Race!
Bridge stood atop the stage with Anna and Phinehas. Sebastian was still at the Plaza with hundreds of people, watching the event on the now reactivated televisions along with Michelle and Her two twin children, Ethan and Eden, who were blissfully sleeping in Their pram with Their mother watching over Them. The leaders of the Scientist Directorate and American Tribe were also present with Their subordinate leaders and immediate relatives. Everyone was excited for the release of the Antivirus and for the official end of the St Peters Virus Global Pandemic, all that was left was for Bridge to give the keynote speech and then the Antivirus could be released. Bridge tapped on the microphone and said "Testing. One, two, testing".
After testing the microphone, Bridge said to the people of the Bay Area and the three factions that lead most of Them "Citizens of the San Francisco Bay Area. During World War Two the Nazis had a top secret research department that We now know is called the Unity Order. When the War ended, They turned Themselves in and got positions of power within Allied science divisions in return for evidence against the Nazis and reformed the Unity Order in secret. The Unity Order believes that people cannot be trusted with Their own freedom, so They seek to destroy the very concept of freedom. The Unity Order has controlled society from the shadows for decades and has orchestrated revolutions, wars, uprisings and revolutions with the goal of making the World so chaotic that the people would willingly give up Their freedom to purchase Their so called "Security" and that would allow the Unity Order to have the one thing They have always wanted: total control over the people".
