Chapter Forty Four: The Plan

September 31st 2025

It had been almost a week since the release of the Antivirus and the St Peters Virus was now eradicated. The Antivirus had spread across the entire planet and the people of San Francisco, Oakland and Silicon Valley rejoiced that They were now safe from the Virus that had killed so many of Their loved ones. But the time for celebration was not present, as while the Virus was gone, the Unity Order remained. Inside of their bunker in Death Valley, the Unity Order were likely outraged at the eradication of the St Peters Virus, which was now colloquially referred to as the "Unity Virus" as a mockery to its creators. Anti-Unity Order sentiment had spread all over the San Francisco Bay Area, with protests and rallies being held all over the place. In one massive rally at the front entrance of Ivan Makarova Memorial Plaza, John Maze spoke through a microphone to protesters who carried signs such as "DOWN WITH THE UNITY ORDER!!!!!" and "HANG THE SUPREME WARDEN!!!!!" With anger in His voice and determination to defeat the Unity Order, John said to the crowd "The Order unleashed Their Unity Virus to wipe Us common folk out. They will not stop EVER until Their evil plans are a success. Which is why I am volunteering in the Phoenix Militia to stop those mad men when We raid New Dawn on October 5th this Sunday and why You should too!" The crowd erupted into applause and cheering. Everyone had lost at least five family members They knew of to the Unity Virus and sought vengeance for those They had lost. But more importantly, the Unity Order had to be stopped in case They released a newer, more deadlier version of the Virus. Ironically, considering the name of the enemy, a sense of common unity was present in San Francisco and the people were ready to defeat the corrupt fascists who had caused the deaths of billions and were more than willing to cause the deaths of anyone that They deemed unworthy of living in Their so called 'perfect' world that would be born not out of peace, but out of blood.

The Phoenix Militia, Scientist Directorate Peacekeepers Unit and American Tribe Warriors were preparing for a joint military operation in which They would all raid New Dawn on October the 5th and put a stop to the Unity Order's plans for global genocide. Bridge Winters, Alpha Phoenix of the First Phoenix Alliance, had insisted that They raid New Dawn as soon as possible because as He put it "The sooner New Dawn is taken, the less of the chance that the Unity Order wipe out the majority of the remaining Humans on Earth". The military forces had taken Bridge's advice to heart and were arming Themselves for the difficult battle ahead. The Legion, the military arm of the Unity Order, was confirmed from the stolen laptop from Area 51 to have at least fifty thousand soldiers at the ready to defend New Dawn and the combine militaries of the San Francisco factions was barely half of that. All three had five thousand soldiers and combined that made fifteen thousand, barely thirty percent equivalent to that of the Legion. The Factions would need a gamechanger and They needed it immediately. 

Gathered around a conference table in front of the statue at Ivan Makarova Memorial Plaza were the leaders of all three factions and They were discussing on how to put a stop to the Unity Order's plans and on how to successfully defeat an enemy that outnumbered Them ten to three. War Chief Sigurd of the American Tribe stood up and said "I propose that We use bullets covered in snake venom. That should help Us win". The Director of the Peacekeepers Unit, Miles Mattison got up from His chair and said "Or perhaps, We wait for Them to come to Us and set up a firing line, that'll show those criminal scum!" Around the conference table were civilians and military personal of all three factions and a Phoenix Militiaman suggested "Why don't We just run in there and shoot those guys? Simple as that". Bridge looked at the soldier and said "An obvious strategy, but that won't work! They outnumber Us and the so called "Worthy" have those microchips implanted in Them. The Order could threaten to kill all one hundred thousand of those people if We attack. So We must find a way to disable Them first or the whole plan will fail". 

That was when Sebastian, son of the Phoenix Militia's commander Joe Mason and Jonah Milton arrived with the laptop. As Sebastian ran towards Them He yelled "Everyone! Me and Jonah found something!" They all looked at Sebastian and Jonah as the two of Them arrived and Sebastian said frantically "Me and Jonah accessed the Unity Order's network using the laptop and We found a way for Us to access a higher clearance and then hack into maximum clearance from there". Jonah then spoke into the microphone in front of His father and said "We went into Sacramento yesterday found out from the computer there before it ran out of power that California's fraud of a Governor was listed as one of the Privileged and that We can access His clearance level for the network". Jonah then handed the microphone to Sebastian as He said "Now it turns out that We can use Governor Jones' fingerprints that We found literally all over the Governor's house to access the network with His level of clearance". As Everyone in the Plaza listened intently, Jonah said into the microphone "We have to place the fingerprint sample We procured from the Governor's House against the fingerprint scanner on the laptop. It reads the fingerprint's genetic code like a barcode at the supermarket and then gives the person access". Sebastian then finally explained "Once We have access to Governor Jones' clearance, We can hack into maximum clearance from there and mess up New Dawn to give Us a better chance at winning. If We don't do that then the Legion will overpower Our forces and the mission will fail".

Gasps and mummers of shock were heard throughout the Plaza and Bridge had a great realisation from what Sebastian and Jonah had just explained. Bridge stood up and said to the assembled leaders "Right then, here's the plan. First, We access Governor Jones' clearance level. From there We have a team of software experts from the Scientist Directorate hack into maximum clearance and then We deactivate the microchips in all of the Worthy and then have the Microchips kill all of the soldiers in the Legion. Then We win the battle just like that!" Mummers of approval and applause was heard from the crowd, but then Jonah said "Maybe, but if Me and Sebastian's hypothesis is correct, Adams will likely have immediate access to the Unity Order's network and will then be able to use it to deactivate the microchips in whatever soldiers haven't already been killed by the microchips. Plus, We can only kill a quarter of Them at a time, so by the time Adams has regained access, somewhere between 25 to 50 percent of the soldiers will still be alive". 

Every one looked disheartened at this, but relieved that at least the battle would be easier. Anna then stood up and asked "But what about the Worthy? Could Adams kill them as well?" Sebastian quickly answered "We will deactivate the microchips in them before they are even activated and they can start a revolt of some kind when they realise that they are free. Regardless, We have to do this on the day We attack to put Them off guard and give Us the upper hand". Bridge agreed and said "Alright then. We'll go ahead with this plan. Lets just hope that Adams is using the bathroom at the time of the attack so He'll have to wipe His butt first". Bursts of laughter were heard at this little joke. But now was not the time for jokes, now was the time for preparations for the battle ahead. As that battle was drawing closer with every second that passed and the closer it got, the more fearful the people of San Francisco were that They would lose, yet also hopeful that They would win.
