I had sent Abel out to the car whilst I made my way through the precinct. It was fairly easy to maneuver my way around with the help of certain officers. It seems that everyone was eager to get rid of this copper, even his own.

Knocking on the door I waited for an answer. When none came, I pushed open the wooden panel and stepped inside.

The office was neat with all his files color-coded and arranged alphabetically. What appeared to be the clever calculating of the Inspector would become his easy downfall.

Finding my dear husbands file, I flipped through the contents, only wanting to take what was necessary. Leafing through the file, I took what appeared to be the meeting minutes. Just as I was about to shut the file, something caught my eye.

Scoffing I examined the photograph, the image burned itself into my mind.

I didn't have time for this, I needed to meet Abel at the car before the copper came. Placing everything back neatly, I shut the file and placed it back in its drawer.

When I was assured that everything was in tact, I removed my latex gloves and shoved them in my shoe, along with the paper. Sometimes I hated the lack of pockets in womens clothing.

Making my way out of the precinct, I nodded to some familiar faces.

"Oh, oops! Sorry Miss!"

Lukewarm coffee spilt down the front of my oversized shirt. The white cotton absorbed the coffee and I watched as it visibly stained. Containing myself, I looked up the person who knocked into me.

Jordan fucking Valius.

"Oh no. Sorry, its my fault! I should pay attention to where I'm going." I put on my sweetest smile, and tried to ignore the way the shirt stuck to me now that it was sticky with coffee. "Aren't you the newest Inspector?"

"Uh, Chief Inspector actually. I'm surprised a pretty girl like you is here. Are you with an officer?"

I continued smiling, all ditzy like.

"I'm actually here to see someone, but I've just been told that visitors aren't allowed. I was on my way out when..." I let myself trail off, giggling and gesturing at my appearance.

"Oh. If you don't mind my asking, who is were you visiting?"

My expression changed from stupid complacency to cunning hatred. "My husband, although I think its best that I don't name him. I hear you haven't been kind to him Chief Inspector, I'll remember that."

Placing a finger on tie, I trailed it downwards. "Don't be too cruel to him alright. I'm sure the boys working for you can tell you why."

"You're -"

"Yes, I am. I suggest you play the game wisely, lest you find yourself incapable of even holding the cards later on. A lack of fingers and whatnot."

"Threatening a police officer is a crime."

"Its not a threat, just a bit of life advice Inspector."

I smiled, walking out of the station. The paper in my shoe felt like the weight of the world.
