Our honeymoon wasn't exactly going as planned.
We wanted to lay low for a few days, so that everything could dissipate in the east-side, however with all the updates from Abel this was looking like a permanent move.
My man paced around our hotel room, his call on speaker, and Abel sounding scared as hell.
"What do you mean the copper isn't taking bribes?"
"I mean hes not fucking taking anything. If we raise any higher he's gonna know we're desperate and he's gonna nail us for something or the other. He already has Vicky and Montero, I'm surprised they haven't cracked."
"Jesus. Are operations running smoothly at least?"
"You know their fucking not. Montero used to handle transport when you were out but with him in interrogation and this new copper blocking export it's impossible to get anything out. Fuck, were not even getting anything into the prisons, the damn prisons."
My man sighed and shot a sad look to Jupiter. The dogs ears flopped down and he gazed woefully back at my husband.
"How does this new copper know so much about us anyways? Think we've got a rat infestation?"
"Its possible. The boys are all acting dodge since the copper got here, I can't tell whether it's nerves or something else."
"Listen, I want you to flush that rat out of its hole before it starts nesting. With them gone, the copper will be out on his own, then I will personally come back to send the Department a message."
"Are you sure? He might have more than one snitch on his side."
"New copper like that? Doubt it. His own blue collars don't even like him. Not with the way he's upsetting daily life anyhow."
"Makes sense. Say hi to the wife for me. I've got to go, I'll call if anything comes up okay."
"Alright then. Keep faith Abel, it'll work out."
"I will Sir."
Ending the call, he looked over at me. He may not show it to others, but I could see the way the stress creeped into his brow. It was a virus.
"Remember what you told Abel. Keep faith love."
Leaning down, he pressed a small kiss to my forehead. "Oh Baby, what would I ever do without you?"
