What is the Hanahaki disease?

You may have read the description of this book already, but I'll explain it more detailed now :)

Hanahaki disease is a fictional disease. You get Hanahaki if you love someone, but they don't love you back; one-sided love. It is mostly used in angst fanfiction, so expect a lot of angst lol

Some more details:
-It is likely that the flower growing in the lungs and being coughed up is the favourite flower or favourite colour of the one the victim loves. Doesn't have to be, flower symbolism is also often used.
-Estimated time of survival with the disease can vary from 2 weeks to 18 months
-You CAN be treated for Hanahaki disease, by surgical removal of the flower roots. This DOES also remove the victim's ability to love and possibly the memories of the one the victim loves. It's also possible that it only removes the ability to love the former crush, so you could fall in love with someone else (hypothetically speaking). I will be using both of these options.
-It can also be cured by the crush of the victim. If the crush has genuine, romantic feelings towards the victim, it may be cured
-In some rare cases the disease cannot be cured
-Symptoms include but are not limited to:
fever, uncontrollable shaking, loss of appetite, low body temperature, and hallucinations
-After being cured, it is possible the lungs have been damaged irreversibly

"Hanahaki Disease (花吐き病 (Japanese); 하나하키병 (Korean); 花吐病 (Chinese)) is a fictional disease where the victim of unrequited or one-sided love begins to vomit or cough up the petals and flowers of a flowering plant growing in their lungs, which will eventually grow large enough to render breathing impossible if left untreated. There is no set time for how long this disease lasts but it may last from 2 weeks to 3 months, in rare cases up to 18 months, until the victim dies unless the feelings are returned or the plants are surgically removed.[5] There is also no set flower that blossoms in the lungs but it may be the enamoured's favourite flower or favourite colour.[6] Hanahaki can be cured through surgical removal of the plants' roots, but this excision also has the effect of removing the patient's capacity for romantic love. It may also erase the patient's feelings for and memories of the enamoured. It can also be cured by the reciprocation of the victim's feelings. These feelings cannot be feelings of friendship but must be feelings of genuine love.
