"One day, the world will make perfect sense. Until then, find me in the stars."

3rd person's POV

'Akaashiiiiiiiiiii' it echoed through the hallway. Y/n jogged around the corner, bumping into a figure.
'Hey hey hey, where are you off to?' the tall male asked. Y/n chuckled at Buokuto's ginormous smile and scratched the back of their neck.
'Akaashi was supposed to help me with extra training, but I can't find him anywhere.'
'So why are you walking around the school?' Bokuto asked.
'...Good question.' Y/n frowned as they tried to figure out their own reasoning. Akaashi hadn't been in the gymnasium, but why would he be in a random school hallway? Wouldn't it make way more sense to call him? Y/n was about to pull their phone out of their pocket, when Bokuto stopped them.
 'I have an idea!'

'Well that's rare, want to celebrate it?' Y/n smirked. Bokuto pouted and lightly poked the 2nd year in their arm.
 'Nooo, I'm serious,' he whined.
'Yeah, yeah, go ahead, owl brain.'
 'Rude!'

The 3rd year explained his plan while dragging Y/n outside. They huffed while following the now basically skipping man-child.
'So Akaashi promised Akaashi would help you, and Akaashi doesn't break promises, that's just not like Akaashi, so we're going to find Akaashi and ask Akaashi why Akaashi wasn't where Akaashi had said Akaashi would be, and-'
'Akaashi uses he/him pronouns Bokuto,' Y/n interrupted. Bokuto looked over his shoulder, a confused look on his face.
 'I know that.'
'Thought I'd tell you. Do you also understand you don't have to say his name every time you mention him?'
'I know that too, I just really like his name!' Bokuto pouted again. Y/n slapped themself in face as the 3rd year jumped around repeating the name over and over.
'Akaashi, Akaashi, Akaashi, Akaashiiiiiiiiiii!! Akaashi,' he took a deep breath, 'AKAASHI!'

 'Yes?'

Y/n whipped their head around, recognising the voice.
'Akaashi! Oh man, I can never hear that name normal again,' they muttered. Bokuto smiled apologetically before slapping Akaashi on his back so hard he coughed.
 'Oops, sorry, hehe.'

Akaashi stretched and turned to Y/n.
 'What's up?'
'I've been looking for you for just about an hour, you'd promised to help me with training,' the apprentice setter spoke. Akaashi smiled softly as he pushed Bokuto, who was clinging to the setter's shoulders, off of him.
'I'm sorry, I got held up. Do you still have time?' Y/n nodded in response. The three walked to the gymnasium and got to training, since Bokuto refused to leave.

Time skip brought to you by joe mama

Y/n leaned on their knees as they were catching their breath. Akaashi walked by and patted their shoulder.
'You're improving! Never thought I'd teach a libero to be backup setter, still feels weird,' he chuckled. Y/n smiled and picked up a ball, preparing to clean up the gymnasium. Bokuto had gotten a call and left half an hour earlier, leaving Akaashi and Y/n on their own. Akaashi suddenly started coughing, leaving Y/n glancing at him with a worried look.
 'You good, bro?'
'Yeah,' he spoke between coughs. 'Don't worry.'
