Bonus ending
"You should not drink poison just because your are thirsty"
1st person's POV (Alhaitham)
I need to find Nahida, she HAS to know a solution.
'Alhaitham, I'm here,' a soft voice sounded from behind me. I spun around and saw her standing at the side of the street. I almost ran to her, tears brimming in my eyes. I opened my mouth to explain everything.
'I know, I'm so sorry,' Nahida said before I could even get the words out. I broke down and fell to my knees.
'I messed up so badly. She LOVED me, and I didn't know!' Nahida put her hand on my shoulder and softly spoke to me to calm me down. I shook her hand off, standing up again and looking around, bewildered.
'There has to be something I can do. She made me realise I love her, AFTER she's gone. I can't- I need to- I-'
'Breathe.'I closed my eyes as I tried to regulate my breathing. A small hand tugged at mine, leading me while I stared through everything. Nahida sat me down in my bedroom, how did we even get here this fast.
'I can help,' she said. My attention sprung back, focussed on the goddess. Nahida's soft eyes scanned my face.
'You're desperate, aren't you?' I nodded.
'I can make you a dream, a samsara, a repeating cycle. It's like a fake world, where you can relive a day or a week or month or year over and over without remembering you've already been through it.'I frowned. How was that supposed to help me? I couldn't relive this pain again, the shock and realisation I had caused Y/n's death. Nahida shook her head.
'I can manipulate it. Y/n will be alive in your fake reality'I didn't need to hear anything else. I wanted to shout that we should do it immediately, but Nahida stopped me.
'But. You need to listen to me, Alhaitham. Don't be too hasty. You should not drink poison just because you are thirsty.'
'I cannot live without Y/n, not with the knowledge she loved me. Take me to her, please,' I pleaded.Nahida explained all the details and I made sure I'd prepared them within a week. I was ready to fix my mistake, at least for myself. Nahida started the process as I closed my eyes, in a hidden place where nobody would ever find me. They would think I'd moved away, away from the pain of Y/n's death. I will, but in a different way. Denial.
Very magic things happening, swish swoosh tada!
Light... A voice... The voice of a young woman... Y/n? I opened my eyes and was met with the most beautiful sight. Y/n and Kaveh were bickering about while I was sat between them. Three idiots on a couch at three in the morning, three different projects on the table, a recipe for disaster. Y/n noticed I woke up after apparently having dozed off and she slipped down from the side of the couch to sit next to me. She kissed my cheek. I smiled. I would never let something bad happen to her, ever.
'Ew, get a room,' Kaveh said. I glanced at him, turning back to Y/n to give her a proper kiss. Kaveh got up and huffed as he took his papers to his room.
'Call me when we can continue our projects, please don't fuck on the couch'
'KAVEH! Behave, of course we're not going to fuck on the couch!' Y/n said, sounding jokingly offended.
'Or are we?' I grinned. She playfully hit my leg as I wrapped my arms around her. I love her. She loves me. This is our life, always has been, always will be.Fin.
I hope the bonus was what you hoped of it <3
