Y/N looked down into the endless abyss that had consumed the city,, holding his tongue throughout the walk with Ruby. Then, rubbing his nose, he smirked, nodding. "It makes you wonder where the huntsman and huntresses were when this city fell so quickly. One moment it was full of life, the next proof all gone."

"I don't know much about Mount Glenn; I'm not even sure we can blame the Huntresses for this," Ruby stated.

"But we cannot rule it out. If the next generations of warriors cannot save one city, what hope do we have for the future?"

Ruby didn't look too pleased by this suggestion, pouting. "The role of a Huntress is meant to bring hope in these dark times. So we don't give up when the battle gets tough, and we will win."

"Maybe, maybe not," Y/N mutters, crouched down, glaring at Ruby. "I highly doubt it will be in our lifetime, though. So why waste your life fighting a battle you're not going to see the outcome? You could sacrifice everything only for it to be all for nothing."

"Or we can win."

"You're one optimistic girl Ruby." He chuckles, looking up to the sky. "I wish I could share that trait."

"Y/N. You know what I'm going to say. You mentioned Summer during the dance. What did you know about her?"

Y/N picked up clumps of rocks, letting them slip between the gaps in his fist, watching them fall into the hole. "Tell me, Ruby, what do you think of the Faunus? Weiss has her opinions, as does Blake. I've never heard your take on the matter?"

"My take?" Ruby whispered, slightly taken back Y/N changed the subject. She gave it some thought before shaking her head in disapproval. "What's that got to do with the conversation."

Y/N stared blankly at Ruby, judging her every move, before closing his eyes and scoffing. "I see, so that's your stand. I understand; they're so beneath you that the Faunus aren't even worth talking about. I didn't take you for someone like that."

"Whoa, now wait a minute. You're jumping to conclusions now."

"Then, by all means. Prove me a wrong little rose." Y/N demands, resting his hands against his head. "I'm all ears."

"What is there to say? We all share the same air and live on the same planet. We have bigger problems than what race we are."

"You are so naive and hopeful little one. I can respect that." Y/N stated, closing his eyes and nodding. "Summer, summer, summer, summer. The silver eyes warrior some called her. She was at one time the greatest threat to the Five Stages until she died."

"You knew her?"

"Knew her? Yes, I very much knew the Summer."

"Please, tell me everything you know about her. There's so much I want to learn about my mother."

Y/N's lips turned curled inwards as he was forced to turn around, holding his breath. A small burst of faint laughter emerged as he had his mouth. "Summer, is your mother? Summer Rose. You're the daughter of Summer Rose!"

Y/N could hardly contain his laughter, feeling overwhelmed with joy and power. "Yes, yes! She died when I was too young to remember her. I only know things from stories told to me. I wish to learn so much about her. I'm begging you, Y/N, if you know anything tell me!"

"How did she die?" Y/N hisses, a smug look on his face. "What did they tell you?"

Fidgeting, she held her hands, muttering. "Summer died on a mission. She gave her life to protect my uncle and her team."

"Lies." Y/N snapped, frustrated. "All of that is fabricated lies that only paint her death as heroic and just. No, her death was far from that."

"What are you talking about? Don't tell me you know ho-."
