I was forced back as the outer part of the city was trambled like nothing more than a lego playset. I was finding it harder to keep myself in check with each passing second. My hand was void of colour, and I could already see one of my eyes was silver.
To say this was a shit show would be an understatement. I crouched down, catching my breath as Yatsuhashi put a hand on my shoulder. "Are you alright?"
Hiding my face, I stood up, trying to play it off. "Peachy... If you had never asked me what Wolfgang's plan was in my imagination, would it be this... This doesn't seem right."
"We should loop around and help any survivors best we can. We'll wait for backup until then." Fox suggested. I wouldn't say I liked the plan, and they knew it. "Y/N, no."
I looked up at the titan rampaging through, clearing my head. "Only I can take this fucker down. This is my responsibility; keep retreating. Fall back and help as many people as possible."
Coco grabbed my arm, looking concerned. "You know I'm not one to worry over most things, but just look at yourself. You're falling apart even. You must know you cannot win."
"If I cannot win here, then Wolfgang does, he will achieve his goal, and there will be nothing we can do about it." I point out, clenching my fist tightly. "This was how it was always going to end. It's funny; I should have seen this one coming..."
"You sound like you have a history with this maniac." Velvet whispered.
I looked down at my reflection in a puddle.
"Yeah... You could say something like that."
XXX Years ago...
A large map was thrown down in front of me, already marked and drawn over by a madman. It showed our home alongside the outside world. I gave it a long stare, conflicted.
Wolfgang slammed his hands together, looking impressed with himself. "Well, what do you think?"
"You're seriously caught up on this again?" I muster up, holding my arm. "There's nothing out there, Wolfgang."
"You don't know that." He argues, circling parts of the map. "I know we can get away. Do you think those lab rats will stop us? We can go wherever we want."
I didn't respond, staring idly at the map and biting my lip. "But... But we have a purpose. I belong here; that's what they told me."
"Enough with that bullshit!" He barked, pushing me back. "You know as well as I do you don't want to be someone's lapdog following the orders of crooked men. That's not who you are, Y/N."
"It doesn't matter," I whisper, sitting down. "I am worthless; I have nothing. I belong here."
Wolfgang's eye kept twitching as he pinned me to the ground. "Listen to me, you bastard! I'm getting out of here; I can't do this alone! I'll do anything; please help me!"
"Always bargaining, aren't you, Wolfgang?" Iris whispered, leaning down with a plain smile. "What are you boys fighting over?"
Wolfgang stumbled back, startled. "Acceptance! We were... We were messing around. You know us."
Iris held the map glancing at it and nodding to herself. "Well, well, well, what do we have here? Quite the hobby you got here, Bargaining. But, of course, you weren't actually thinking of escaping, were you?"
"What, of course not?!" Bargaining lied. "There's nothing out there like you said."
Iris groaned, tilting her head to me. "Yo, Y/N, my favourite stage, who would never lie to me. Tell me, is Bargaining lying?"
