10 - Rooftop of Feelings

You wouldn't say they really handled it. Turns out, the League of Villains, which you were just made aware that this was them, somehow managed to get away from Hawks and Endeavor. However, they managed to capture the lizard guy for questioning, which is the good news about this. You will have to go through some questioning later as well. Nonetheless, this is not the thing that's mainly on your mind.

Todoroki has asked you to meet him on the rooftop of the dorm right at midnight. You wonder about what he could possibly want to say to you. Maybe it is about what he started saying at the Ferris Wheel before you got interrupted. That was something that you couldn't quite shake off your mind the entire time. But you'll find out soon enough, as it is almost midnight. You grab the necklaces you bought earlier, which were thankfully still in your bag even after all the turmoil, and head up to the rooftop.

Once there, you see Todoroki resting on the railing, looking at the forest surrounding UA. You then walk up to him.

"Hi Todoroki," you say as he jumps a bit, startled.

"Hi, Y/n. I didn't notice you there."

"Sorry about that," you say looking down.

"D-don't worry about it..."

Awkward silence back again.

"I have something to give you."

"I have something to tell you."

You both said at the same time.

"Ladies first," he tells you while making a motion with his hands.

You nod as you reach for your back pocket. You pull out both necklaces and place them in his hands. His eyebrows raise in surprise as he looks up from his hands to look at you, then back down at the necklaces.

"I saw you eyeing them earlier so I got them. One is like your quirk and the other is like mine. That's why you were looking at them, wasn't it?" You ask him, and he nods with a small smile. "The flame represents one of your sides, while the color blue represents the other. Quite clever, I would say," you mention with a chuckle. "While the moon is because of my sleep-related quirk."

"You nailed it," he lets out a small chuckle while smiling.

He puts the moon necklace around his neck and tucks it under his shirt. He then took the flame necklace, and he put it on you.

"This way we can each carry a part of each other, kind of like a lucky charm," he says, kind of embarrassed. "But truly, thank you for these, Y/n."

"No problem, Todoroki!" You say with a smile.

"Y/n, could you call me Shoto, instead?" He says while looking straight at you.

"O-of course! ... Shoto!" You reply nervously.

"Okay I guess there's no running from this," he says while reaching for your hands. Your face became instantly red. "Y/n, what I wanted to say before, is that... whew... I've been having these feelings lately and I couldn't put a name to them. It took me embarrassingly too long for me to realize this but... Y/n, I've come to the conclusion that I really, really, like you. Way more than as friends. It became even clearer once they took you away back then," he says pulling one of his hands to cover his embarrassed face.

You don't know what to think. So many things pass through your head. Your face instantly turns bright red. Bright enough that he might still be able to see it with the faint light emitting from the moon. Your stomach feels funny and suddenly you feel really hot. Is this what you've been feeling all this time?

"I... I really like you too, Shoto," you reply with a big smile.

Welp, that was certainly easier to say than you thought it was going to be. Maybe his nervousness helped you calm your own. But that's what that feeling was. A wave of calmness goes through your body after finally being able to figure out what this was.
