Chapter 1: James Takes the Plunge

On Paradise Island, the railway there is home to the engines that used to live on Sodor, and many more as well.

There are steam engines

and diesel engines.

Some engines are very famous, like the Flying Scotsman

and Penny.

However, as per-usual, there are engines who think that they are better than the others. And one of these engines was teasing another engine.

This was James, and he was telling some of the other engines the time Percy was pushed into the sea by some trucks because he wanted to go past a danger sign!

"And then," said James, "He was pushed into the sea!!"

Spencer, Pete, Farnsworth, and Vinnie all laughed!

Percy just sulked, and said, "Well, at least I'm mature enough to not throw hissy fits over trucks!!"

James let off steam, "Well, a splendid engine like me shouldn't be pulling trucks! I am the pride of the line!"

"No, you are not!" said a voice. It was (Y/N) Awdry II, the Reverent Controller.

"YOU, are a regular mixed traffic engine. You are not above anyone, nor is anyone inferior to you! Perhaps some goods trains will knock some sense back into you!"

James was shocked, "But, ma'am-"

"No buts!! Let me remind you, that you are not just for passengers! And until you learn that, you will remain on goods work. Understood?"

"Yes, ma'am," said James.

Next morning, James headed to the goods yard, and saw Murdoch, Boco, Bear and Henry.

"Hello James," said Bear, "You here to do some real work for a change?"

The others laughed, as James just sulked and backed down onto his train.

"Don't mind us James," said Henry, "We're just teasing you."

James just snorted, and headed off to Beach View.

James puffed down the line with the slow goods. He groaned the whole way! He picked up and dropped off trucks at each station, all the way to Beach View. While he headed to the station, the trucks were getting a naughty idea.

At the station, there is a junction that leads to an old line that goes to the beach, and it has a set of old buffers that are in need of repair.(End Video)

As James headed to the points, the trucks waited, and waited until, "GO ON!! GO ON!!!"

They pushed James, and the points were set to the old line! James was pushed down the line! James put on his brakes, but the weight of the trucks kept pushing down the line, and crashed through the buffers, and into the water!!!

Luckily, no one was hurt, but James was not feeling very splendid.

(Y/N) came to the wreckage, and said, "James, you should know better than to speak to other engines like you did to Percy. Karma can come and bite you right in the taillamp if you're not considerate of others."

The trucks giggled, but soon stopped when (Y/N) turned on them.

"AS FOR YOU ALL!!" she thundered, "You never seem to learn sense!! I can easily sell you all for scrap, and just get new, more BEHAVED trucks if you don't stop this!!!"

The trucks subsided.

Soon, Judy and Jerome the Brake Down Cranes came, being pulled by Percy.

"Well well well," said Percy, "Decided to take the plunge, did you James?"

James said nothing, as he was towed out of the water, and lifted onto a flatbed.

After that, James was taken away by Bear, and he never once again spoke about taking a plunge, or any other incident from Sodor, as he now knows, his words can bite him right in the taillamp.
