However, they don't mean to be troublesome. In fact, they just want attention, but don't know how else to get attention.

One day, Nia was working in the yards, when she heard the trucks talking.

She then asked, "Um, excuse me, what are you talking about?"

The trucks were surprised. No engine had ever talked to them like that before.

"I-It's a truck thing," said one.

"Yeah, a truck thing," said another.

"What do you mean?" asked Nia.

"Well, we all have a special thing that we like, and we actually have a song to explain it, if you want."

"Oh, a song?" asked Nia, "I'd love to see it."

The trucks were surprised that an engine is being civil like this to them.

"If you'd like," said the trucks.

TRUCKS (x15)

Wagon: We ride the rails from shore to shore
Haulin' loads from farm to store

Boxvan: Pushin' through and drivin' deep
Two thousand miles, no sleep

Tanker: You know the code we roll along

Wagon: Kick into gear before the dawn

Flatbed: Well, life is just a stroke of luck

Tanker: 'Cause there ain't nothin' like bein' a truck

Nia started to push them gently into their places as they sang.

Trucks: We got our backs, you know we're ready for the long haul
Keep in tow, you know, we got ya', even if you're small
Come on and roll with us, you know it's us, we're leavin' now
Steer the course upon the sea, the open road is made for...

TRUCKS (x14)

Nia then saw Murdoch with a goods train, and his trucks sang along.

TRUCKS, TRUCKS, TRUCKS
It's a truck thing
TRUCKS, TRUCKS, TRUCKS
Just a truck thing

Nia then put some trucks into a train with a brake van.

Rumble and bumble, the wheel and the grind
It's a truck thing

Rackin' up miles every rail that we find
Just a truck thing

The trucks then imagined the lights went out, and each one of them lit up to the beat of the music in their heads.

Turn it over, no more slippin', the journey''s started
Lay it hard upon the buffers in position, on it
Check the wheels and the engine, punch it
Haulin' all together, honkin' everybody knows we're comin'
It's a truck thing

TRUCKS, TRUCKS
It's a truck thing

Shakin' and turnin' the wheel's a-turnin'
The track'll be rattlin', the engines are puffin', we're...

TRUCKS, TRUCKS, TRUCKS
Just a truck thing

Weighin' in high, rollin' out low
10-4, we ain't rollin' out on our own
It's a truck thing

TRUCKS, TRUCKS
It's a truck thing

With the red, the blue, and the yellow, the green
We're rollin' together, the prouder the team
Whatever, wherever, we'll get there together
And that's why we sing (x6)

"IT'S A TRUCK THING!!!!!!" sang one last truck.

Nia was impressed, and said, "That was amazing!"

The trucks then thanked Nia, and Nia headed off to do more shunting.

Just then, James came by, and he biffed the trucks hard.

"James," said Nia, "Why did you bump them?"

"Why shouldn't I bump them!?" asked James, "They're noisy, dirty, and-"

"That's enough James!" snapped Nia, catching James off guard, "You and the other engines bump the trucks so much, that's the reason they're troublesome in the first place!! That's why they are troublesome!! Now get going, before you get your comeuppance!!"

James was lost for words, and did as he was told.

After that, the trucks didn't give Nia any trouble, and in return, she didn't bump them, and she stood up to them if they were bumped for no reason. And the trucks, started to behave better after that.
