Dudley was soon doing good on Paradise Island. His trains were on time, and were orderly. He got along with the engine no problem, except for a few.
It started one night, when Dudley arrived at the round house, and backed down into his birth.
"What do you think of our railway Dudley?" asked Gordon.
"It's wonderful," said Dudley, "I'm glad that you still have a controller who knows how to run a railway."
"I'm sorry you were left to rust on the other railway," said Edward.
"It's alright," said Dudley, "It's better than rusting in the scrap heap."
"Indeed," said Henry, "You have no idea how many nights that thought's kept me up since coming to this railway. Especially after what happened on Sodor."
"Ah yes, I've heard what happened," said Dudley, "I'm sorry for what happened."
"Well, some good things came out of that incident," said Murdoch, "We got a new home, and still work like a real railway."
"Yes, with engines of all shapes and sizes," said Nia.
Just then, some horns were heard.
Boco, Diesel, Bear, and Diesel 10 all arrived, and joined the engines.
Diesel 10 backed down right next to Dudley.
"Hello," said Diesel 10, "You must be Dudley. It's nice to have a new engine to help out."
"I'm charmed," said Dudley, unenthusiastically.
Diesel 10 knew what he was thinking, "I know, but the diesels here are not like the ones on the mainland. We-"
"So, what adventures did you all have on this railway?"
Lady then said, "Diesel 10 was just saying the diesels here are not that bad. He's been reformed."
Dudley just ignored her, and spoke with the big engines.
The diesels were no stranger to the cold buffer from steam engines. Tonight, the Flying Kipper was due out soon, and Diesel 10 saw that Dudley was fast asleep. He decided to let him sleep, and he decided to take it for him.
When he arrived back at the yard, he found Dudley glaring at Diesel.
"And I know what you all do!!" he thundered, "You're just under cover to get rid of the steam engines!!"
"I've grown out of those ways!!" snapped Diesel, "I'm just saying that your train is ready!!! I know I'm not capable of pulling that kind of train!!"
"Pah!! I see your lies, I-"
"THAT'S ENOUGH!!" snapped Diesel 10, "Now, Dudley, please get your train, and stop pestering Diesel."
Dudley hissed steam rudely at the diesels, and puffed off.
Dudley arrived in the sheds that night, and he said, "I will NOT sleep next to that filthy object!!! Go and sleep in the carriage shed!! Your kind's not welcome!!"
That filthy object, was Daisy, who had helped with commuter trains on the mainline. She was just about to give Dudley a piece of her mind, when the other beat her to it.
"If it's that much of a problem, then maybe you should sleep in the carriage shed," snapped Gordon.
"Indeed," said Emily, "Then maybe we'd get some sleep!"
Dudley couldn't believe this! The steamies were defending the diesels.
Dudley, begrudgingly, pulled up next to Daisy.
The next morning, Diesel 10 rolled out, and saw some trucks that had been smashed to bits.
"What happened here?" he asked.
But the trucks didn't answer. They just looked pale, and looked elsewhere.
Diesel 10 just decided to clean up the mess.
Just then, a voice cried, "DIESEL 10!! WHAT IS THIS I HEARD OF YOU DAMAGING ROLLING STOCK!?!"
Diesel 10 looked to see (Y/N) livid.
"Ma'am," said Diesel 10, "I've just seen them like this!! I didn't do anything."
"Diesel 10," said (Y/N), "Until I find out who did this, I'll have to go with the evidence I have right now. You will stay in the sheds until further notice."
Diesel 10 looked at his buffers, and backed into the sheds.
