Sunoo's POV

I wave goodbye to Ni-Ki as he walks out the front door. Something is off about him. He must know something about Jungwon. But why would he hide that from me? He knows Jungwon is my best friend, and Ni-Ki wouldn't do anything. Right? I run upstairs, and put a flashlight, my phone, a jacket, and a knife into my backpack. Along with all my other school supplies. I was going to find Jungwon. After school, I'll go into the woods and look for him. One of the very few things I know about vampires, having one as my boyfriend, is that they hide in the woods or places humans in their right minds won't go. Ni-Ki told me that. Why? I don't know.

Next day

I wake up, do my usual routine, and head to school. "Hey, Sunoo!" Ni-Ki yells and gives me a side hug. Even though I am beginning to have trust issues with him, I hug him anyway. "It seems like we haven't been to school in ages. But I'm not complaining." He says and laughs. He seemed cheerful. Before I was mad at him for being like that, knowing Jungwon was gone. Then I realized he was just trying to cheer me up. But now, I'm not sure how to feel about it. We walk inside and see the hall full of girls and boys (mostly girls) eagerly waiting for our arrival. One of the girls come up to us. "Where's Jungwon? Is he sick?" Before we can answer, she gives furrows her brows, like she's confused. "What were we talking about?" Then the bell rings, and she walks away. That was strange. It's like she totally forgot about who Jungwon was.

Which may or may not be a good thing. I don't know how I was going to respond.

Ni-Ki and go to our first class, which we don't share. Ni-Ki had to switch classrooms. It would usually be all three of us. But now, it's just me. I sat down next to my classmate, I don't know his name, and pulled out my notebook. The teacher came in and she started to take attendance. I was busy doodling in my book when I was interrupted by a tapping noise on my desk. "Sunoo? Are you with us?" She asks and a few people chuckle. "Oh, yeah. I-I'm here." She nods and goes back over to her table. "Jungwon?" I shudder as hear her call his name. "Jungwon?" She looks around the room. "Hm. Must not be feeling well." And she finishes the list.

Finally, she had started the lesson, but I took very few notes. I couldn't focus. Is Ni-Ki hiding something? Or am I just going crazy? There's no way he would do something to hurt Jungwon...But would he? What if- My thoughts were interrupted again by a tapping on my desk. "Mr. Kim, how are you going to learn and understand algebra if you don't take notes?" She asked. "Sorry," I say quietly. "I know your friend isn't here right now, but that doesn't mean you stop paying attention." She says sternly. She turns her back and I roll my eyes. B*tch.

Ni-Ki and I decided to go outside for lunch. We sit down at the table, facing each other, and begin to open out meals. I watched Ni-Ki carefully as he ate his meal so innocently. "Wae~?" I shake my head and blow on my noodles. "What are you-?" "Are you hiding something from me?" Ni-Ki looked taken aback by my question. "What? Is this about yesterday?" I shrug. "Possibly." Ni-Ki swallowed hard. 

Ni-Ki's POV

I walk to my classroom and sit in the way back. This way, the teacher wouldn't notice me daydreaming or sleeping. But I wasn't doing either of those today. I really messed up yesterday. Now, Sunoo won't trust me. I should tell him the truth. But then again, Jay. He has helped me in a lot of ways. He became my friend a few months after my dad left. He taught me different things and ways of being a human and a vampire. I knew I could always count on Jay. He even helped me find my lover, Sunoo. The one I've been watching since I came here. The one I couldn't help but fall in love with. The one I promised to tell everything...The one I said I would protect...If I keep lying to him, am I protecting him? I rub my fingers through my hair and lay back in the chair. This is a tough one.

Sunoo and I walk outside for lunch today. I open up my container and begin to eat. I noticed Sunoo is watching me. "Wae~?" Sunoo shakes his head and begins to eat his own food. Since neither of us were saying anything, I decided to break the silence. "What are you-?" "Are you hiding something from me?" Sunoo interrupts. I'm a bit shocked but I guess I should have expected this. "What? Is this about yesterday?" I ask, trying to seem as innocent as possible. He shrugs. "Possibly." I sallow. I don't want to lie to Sunoo anymore. But Jay keeps coming back to my thoughts. I get up and run to the bathroom.
