Alexander's pov:

Two hours later, I stood just outside the eastern borders of the Black Shadow Pack. My watch read 16:30. I knew the guards would change shifts in exactly thirty minutes, giving me a narrow window—just two minutes—to slip past the outpost unnoticed. So, I chose to stay calm and steady while I waited.

At precisely 17:00, as expected, the guards exchanged positions. Without hesitation, I moved swiftly past the outpost and headed toward the pack house. The first, easier part of my plan was complete. Now came the harder part: finding Elektra. Even though I had hidden my presence, moving freely within the pack's territory without drawing suspicion would be a delicate task.

I crept closer, eyes scanning every corner. The streets buzzed with life — pack members out enjoying the warm spring afternoon, the sun casting long shadows between buildings. I ducked behind a large bush, heart pounding, and waited for darkness to fall. Still, no sign of Elektra. Where could she be?

Just as I was about to leave my hiding place, a girl walked by. She was petite and thin, her clothes worn and simple — likely an omega.

"I'm sorry, miss," I called softly. I'd brought my own clothes and looked presentable enough. The girl froze, eyes darting around nervously. When she realized I was addressing her alone, she looked down and replied timidly, her voice barely above a whisper.

"How can I help you, Sir?" the girl asked hesitantly.

"I'm looking to speak with Miss Elektra," I said, trying to keep my voice calm but eager.

"Elektra? You mean the Alpha's daughter?" she asked, her tone timid.

"Yes. Do you know where I might find her?" I pressed, heart quickening.

"Probably at the training fields," she replied softly.

"Thank you, Mary," I said, noticing her surprise when I addressed her by name. After a brief pause, she added shyly, "Mary, sir."

"It's nice to meet you, Mary. I'm Alexander," I smiled warmly before turning toward the training fields.

The grounds were bustling with activity—warriors sparring, honing their skills under the fading daylight. I scanned every face, every corner, but Elektra was nowhere to be found.

"Where could she be?" I muttered under my breath.

As the shadows lengthened, more warriors began arriving, their presence a clear warning. I couldn't afford to linger—one careless glance their way could spell disaster. Reluctantly, I slipped back to my hiding place and waited for nightfall.

But Elektra was still nowhere in sight. Where was she?

Hungry and tired, I decided to go hunting. After about an hour, luck was on my side—I caught a deer and finally filled my empty belly. During the hunt, I stumbled upon a small cave nestled beneath the trees and decided to spend the night there. Tomorrow, I would return to the pack and try once more to find Elektra. I prayed that luck would favor me this time.

The next morning, I woke up feeling heavy with sleep. All I wanted was a strong cup of coffee to jolt me awake. Today was my last chance to talk to Elektra—the magical filter that concealed my presence would fade by afternoon, and then my true scent would be exposed to the pack. That would be disastrous. I didn't believe John could get me out this time, no matter how hard he tried.

I followed the familiar path back to the pack and hid behind the same large bush as yesterday. Even this early, the pack was alive with activity. Omegas bustled about their daily chores, warriors trained rigorously in the fields, and others jogged or headed off to work. But Elektra was nowhere in sight. Where could she be?
