ALSO, WARNING, THERE IS THE CURSE WORD H*LL AT THE END, IN CASE THAT TRIGGERS YOU!!

Jack had taken in the younger boys when he was seventeen-years-old. With the help of Medda, of course.

He didn't know what he'd be getting himself into.

Especially not this.

"Jack!" Romeo whined, shoving on his spider-man mask. "Do you know where my web shooters are?"

"In the dining room!" Jack yelled, tying up Elmer's hulk-mask. "Here you go bud." He put the mask on the seven-year-old's head.

"Hulk smash!" The tiny boy repeated in his squeaky voice.

"You bet." Jack ruffled the brown locks before going to find Kid Blink. "Blinky-"

"I'm making lunch Jack!" Blink looked up from his spot by the kitchen counter, masterfully spreading the contents on sandwich's.

"Okay, good." Jack let out a sigh. "You-"

"I'm picking Elmer and Romeo up after school," Blink nodded.

"R-"

"Racer can't have Avacado because he might spill it on his costume, I know." Blink rolled his eyes.

Jack's face fell slightly.

"Racer's in middle school now-"

"That's right!" Blink smacked his forehead. "He's in sixth grade!"

"He's got a locker." Jack patted the younger boy's shoulder. "Treat 'im to some Avocado."

"Got it boss." Blink winked.

"Okay." Jack put his hands up before dashing away. "Crutchie!"

"I'm fine Jack." Crutchie rolled his green eyes, slinging his backpack on his shoulder. "Go take care of Tony."

"Got it." Jack nodded. "Love you."

"Love you too." Crutchie sent an air kiss to his older brother.

"Race-" Jack opened the door to see the blonde in normal clothes, his costume still on top of his dresser. "What're you doing kiddo? I thought you wanted to be Evan Hansen?" He held up the iconic polo shirt.

"I- I do." The blonde mumbled softly, throwing his binder into his bag.

"Then why isn't this wonderful polo shirt in your bag?" Jack raised a questioning eyebrow.

"O- Oscar and Morris said they'll make fun of me." Race whispered fearfully.

"Oscar and Morris?" Jack jumped. "Aren't they in Crutchie's grade?"

Race nodded his head, still shoving things into his bag.

"They go to high school!" Jack glared at the sky. "Why are they picking on a sixth grader!?"

"It's fine." Race mumbled. "Some kids said we're too old to play dress up. If Oscar and Morris won't beat me up, someone will."

Jack knelt down to the younger boy's level.

"No one'll make fun of you, got that?" Jack put his hands on the younger boy's shoulders. "I'll make sure of it."

Race stayed silent before nodding again. Sure his brother would be okay. Jack stood up.

"I- I guess it won't hurt." Race grabbed the polo shirt and arm cast, shoving them into his backpack before giving Jack a wide smile- one that reminded him why he went through all that trouble.

"Have fun at sch-"

"Thanks Jackie." Race jumped, wrapping his arms around his older brother.

"I love you." Jack pressed a kiss to the top of the boy's head.

"I love you too." Race beamed.

Jack had gotten the call during his work study period, immediately panicking when he saw it was from the school district.

"What did Blink do!?" Was the first thing that spit out of his mouth. "Blink probably got into a fi-"

"Louis got into a fight!?" The middle-school dean let out a loud gasp. "Cynthia! What'd I say about keeping me in the loop?"

"No fights today Mr. Grey." The secretary reported.

"Even at the high school?" Mr. Grey let out a groan.

"Wait..." Jack felt as if he got hit with a stone. "Mr. Gray?"

"Yes, that's my name Mr. Kelly." Mr. Grey spoke proudly at his former student.

"I haven't- I haven't talked to you since I graduated." Jack's eyes shined.

"Yes, I see you've gained full custody of your foster brothers, good, good." Mr. Grey nodded.

"...if it wasn't Blink then-" Jack's eyes widened in realization. "Oh no-"

Jack darted up, picking up his bag.

"Mr. Kelly, where do you think you're going!" The librarian hissed. "Period five is not over ye-"

"I have to pick up my brother." Jack left no room for argument, leaving the room.

"Still strong-hearted I see." Mr. Grey noted.

"I'll be there in a minute." Jack began to run across the football field to the middle-school side.

"I'm still in the same room." The dean shrugged.

"Identification please." The man at the stand spoke until- "Kelly! Welcome back! Your brother is with Mr. Gr-"

"I know." Jack butted in, speed walking to the office.

Then there he was.

His little brother in his bloody polo-shirt glory.

"Race! What happened!" Jack fussed letting the younger boy jump into his arms.

"You said they wouldn't bully me! They came! Out of no where during Gym!" Race whimpered, burying his face into the older boy's neck.

"Shhh, baby, it's gonna be okay." Jack held the boy close, mouthing a 'thank you' to Mr. Grey. "I'm so sorry."

"I wanna go home," Race cried.

"Is that oka-"

"Go ahead Jack." Mr. Grey nodded. "Mr. and Mr. Delancey have already gotten lunch detention."

Jack had signed all the early dismissal pick-up papers, letting Race grab his stuff from his locker before leaving.

"I'm so sorry kiddo." Jack shook his head when they were finally in the car.

"We- we were running the track and they grabbed me and- and-" Race stammered.

"Shh. It's okay." Jack silenced his younger brother. "Where was Albert during all of this?"

"He tried to help too." Race sniffled. "But they grabbed him! And he's in the nurses office right now!"

"Do you want me to call his Momma and make sure he's okay?" Jack questioned.

Race let his head nod stiffly.

"Alright then." Jack focused on the road until they got back to the house. "Are you still up for trick-or-treating."

Race didn't wait for Jack to finish his sentence, already shaking his head.

"How 'bout we just watch movies tonight then, me and you?"

Race smiled genuinely, the gap between his teeth showing.

"That's a plan then." Jack let the blonde-haired-boy jump onto his back.

He just might beat up the Delancy's later.

Maybe....

....oh who is he kidding. Jack would give them hell.
