A/N: I took way too long to update. and I'm sorry. It's not that I've been busy, but I'm reading this really good book, and I haven't been able to peel my eyes away from it until now... soo..... yeah. Hope you like!
The second I stepped into the gymnasium, all eyes were on me. Not a single female was in the room, other than me of course. I was wearing my sports bra and spandex shorts like I had mentioned before. I spotted Nick jogging towards me.
"Hey babe." He murmured, wrapping his arm around my waist and pecking my lips. "Sorry, but because you have to train with me, you're in the men's training block." I smiled up at him.
"Let's go. I mean, my fingers ache with need. I need water, fire, something." I whined. It was true. My body was aching with anticipation. It had been over twenty-four hours since I had used any of my powers, and to be honest, I was dying. Only a few minutes ago had I noticed that my hands were shaking, a dull pain pulsing up and down my arms. If I had to wait any longer, I swear I'd explode.
Nick laughed at me. He pulled a rock out of his back pocket and gestured for me to stay put. He took six huge steps away from me. Before I could process what he was doing, the rock was soaring towards me. My hand shot out, stopping the rock mid-air. I twisted my hand, the rock right in front of me, rotating slowly. The tingling in my hands relieved the dull ache that was once there. Flattening my hand out, I made my palm face the ceiling. I quickly pulled my hand into a fist. The rock crumbled mid-air, the small pieces falling towards the ground. It took me a moment to notice that the rubble hadn't fallen straight to the ground, but instead floated about an inch from the gymnasium floor.
Curious, I flattened my hand out once more, watching as the pieces rose back up, forming the rock once again. I cut off my powers, allowing the rock to fall into my open hand. It was all in one piece. It was as if I hadn't caused it to disenigrate at any point in it's existense.
"Satisfied?" Nick's voice brought me out of my state of awe. My eyes flickered up to see him smirk at me.
I nodded slightly, looking back at the rock. "It's whole again." I rolled the pebble in my fingers. Nick gasped, ripping the rock from my hand.
"I thought you were using your powers to hold the pieces together!" He said, his face showing complete shock. "You've got to teach me that." I shook my head, laughter caged up within me.
"Good morning, gentlemen." An ox-like man boomed. "As you can see, we have a female in the room. She will be training with us during her time here. I expect you to be respectful, but don't be any easier on her. Take in her aura. She is strong; powerful. You can feel the strength she possesses from across the room. You will treat her as if she is one of you. Both her and Nick will be working on the side doing seperate activities at some points, but that doesn't mean that she is to be treated any differently than you would treat each other." He paused, turning to me. His words didn't make total sense, but everyone understood it enough. "Now, introduce yourself, tell us a little bit about yourself, and demonstrate your powers. Most of us don't know what you're capable of, myself included. So, go ahead."
I nodded, stepping forward and in front of the large group of males. "Hi, I'm Lux Kennedy. I've been here for about four days, my hair changes colour a lot, I'm an elemental, like Nick, and my dad was the avatar." A collective gasp echoed through the gymnasium, shocked looks on everybody's faces. "Uh, I guess I'll just start off with whatever." I murmured.
Taking a deep breath, I placed my palms out, facing the roof. Heat flowed through my entire being. Flames burst from my fingers. I quickly created a fireball by balling my hands into fists. Lauching my right fist upwards, the fireball shot up, stopping mid-air, so it was floating. Leaving it there, I let coolness replace the heat in one of my hands. A bubble of water formed, floating upwards until it was idle next to the ball of flames.
"Rock." I said to Nick, my eyes meeting his briefly. He pulled it out, throwing it at me. I pushed my palm out, making it explode. Instead of bursting everywhere, the pieces of rock expanded, making brick-like stones. I stacked my hands on top of each other, a new brick being added to the walls each time I moved one of my hands to the top. I stopped stacking. A perfectly built fire pit stood before me. Flicking my wrist, the fireball flew to the fire pit. It landed perfectly, making the scene look like a real campfire. I smacked my palms together, the water falling onto the fire, putting it out. With a simple flick of the wrist, I managed to dry up all the water, turn the bricks back into a rock and blow the ashes from the fire away into thin air.
I glanced at the audience. Everyone in the room was gaping at me. "That's all." I muttered, an awkwardness falling over me. My eyes made there way to Nick. He looked the least shocked out of everyone in the room. To be honest, I was even surprised I had done that.
"That, gentlemen, is without any training. This is Lux without any knowledge of how things work." The instuctor's words only made everyone's jaws drop even more. All but Nick stared at me in awe. Nervous, I paced over to Nick, digging my face in his chest when he offered me an embrace.
"That was amazing, babe." He whispered into my ear. I could feel a blush heat my cheeks and ears. My cheeks were probably as red as the tips of my hair. The way his fingers rubbed soothing circles on my back sent tingles shooting up my spine. "It was so amazing, I don't think you need any training."
Shaking my head, I shoved my head back into his chest. "Liar."
