 Dear Journal,

The dreams continued, each night the voice spoke to me. Nick and I were meant to find the unicorn, but our plan failed. Nick is missing, and I miss him like crazy. I'm in the forest somewhere; I'm a few days' walk from the school. Sounds emerge from the forest each night as I lie in my tent. At first, I had thought it was Nick, but it's been going on for several nights in a row. Nick wouldn't play this cruel a joke on me. When he went missing, he had a small amount of food and a water bottle with him. I'm only hoping that he has survived. I think the sound at night is the unicorn. I may sound crazy, but I think it's watching over me, protecting me, almost.

Some may ask why I'm even writing this journal entry, rather than looking for Nick. Well, I've spent three days searching with no luck. I can't make a connection to him, either. But why am I writing rather than crying, or worrying? If Nick and I don't return to school by the end of next week, a search party will be sent out for us. If the search party comes across this journal, they will know what happened.

I have a lot of supplies, still. The tent is keeping me warm and dry when it rains at night; the thick sleeping bag comforts me. The food and water aren't even halfway through. To say we prepared well is an understatement.

Tonight I'm going to see where the sound comes from. I know I should be scared, but I'm more scared of not knowing.

 Lux Kennedy,

Full Elemental, lost and confused.

My pen lifted off the page as a crunching sound echoed from behind me.
