Heyy guys I'm back. I'm literally writing this chapter for the ninth time now, the first eight being before hiatus.

we'll talk after the chapter ends, for now, enjoy 👽

(tho just please do update me whether I've lost my story writing essence so I can brush up or if it's still there 😖)

.

It's already too late for your brain to be functioning properly. And that is how life plans it- right when you're in the worst of your states to escape, leave alone fight, you end up being surrounded by a bunch of people with the absolute intention to break you.

The delinquents in front of your are not as big as a problem as the guy behind. This one's far too powerful for you to even escape from him, you can feel it in his aura.

"I wonder what a girl would do all alone at this time of the night." one of the biker parks his bike and gets off with a sneer.

You're suddenly reminded of why Max hates delinquents so much- if people like this roam around in the areas where he works, of course he'd believe all of them are the same. It's only lucky that Sendou's living example of that not being true.

"Yeah," you hear the voice from behind you approach further, and internally start calculating all escape routes, "I was thinking the same."

The biker in front suddenly goes dead silent, and as the others quickly drive away, he bows low, mumbles several apologies and then hurries off too.

A massive L of a show, but who are you to complain. One of your headaches just got nullified by the other, hurray, maybe.

"Thank you... " you hear yourself say though your brain is still as active and alert.

The guy from before, who now, evidently wasn't a member of the bikers steps at the end of the road only a little away from you, his eyes traveling all over you body.

It isn't the type when a guy's checking you out, it's more as if he's checking what's on you- a simple chain, a watch, shoes, the bag and all. You wonder if he's planning to snatch something and make a run for it but you doubt someone with his sort of power would need to do that.

"Do you have any idea where (L/N) Max's office is?" you hear him ask in a tone too apparent in it's sense of superiority.

Your lips tighten at his name. If a delinquent is looking for your brother, the situation can't be any good. In this sort of a scenario, Max would expect you to first, act like you don't know him, and second, not be involved at all and stay out of suspicion.

"No idea." you said, "What's the office's name, I might give you some clue if I know."

The guy's lips twitch almost mockingly, "He's a police officer? Or a detective or something?"

"There's a police station two blocks away, if that could help." you know because Max had told you so once, but for some reason, the guy doesn't seem like he trusts you.

Of course smart people don't trust just anyone off the road, but this is more of suspicion.

"Your name is?" the guy asks, a sort of amusement in his voice. You fear he already knows who you are, but just as a precaution, you skip out your last name.

"(Name)."

"Just (Name)?"

"Yeah. I don't really use my family name anymore, we had a... disagreement... " you hate how these words are the only that sound brutally honest. The guy doesn't seem to care much though.
