There were some doubts related to Sanzu's personality on Quotev by some readers so here's an explanation before the chapter-

So here's the thing about Sanzu, guys: (it's lengthy and all but do read it)

Sanzu is no doubt the "wild horse" he's be referred to be as in canon but let's examine all the other details about him-

FIRST- Sanzu changes after the "Mikey giving him scars" incident. Long story short, he loses his mind as a normal kid would have after seeing the sort of stuff he did (scars + Shinichiro time leap) (trauma yk).

SECOND- Baji was present at the moment when Sanzu got his scars. Baji might not know of the whole "Shinichiro and time leaping" story but he is subconsciously aware of Mikey's impulses having seen them firsthand once. Although it doesn't change much, the mere fact that Baji was with him then and has always been a close friend of his is what has Sanzu "just brash and crazy" at the moment.

THIRD- Sanzu is "just brash and crazy" at the moment but reasonably so. He has trauma from the past and that is how I will be portraying all this as. It is after Baji's death that Sanzu's craziness surfaces and he feels that he alone can create the environment where Mikey is safe and thereby loses his mind.

👉👉FOURTH-In part where Mikey tells Muto to handle Sanzu because other division captains can't discipline him, it's subtly explained that Mikey chooses to keep Sanzu rather than throwing him out just because the others can't handle him, and the way Sanzu is quiet and awkward in that scene followed by him playing the board game with Mucho later reveals he's still on friendly terms with Mikey and is known as a companion to the others though he's majorly troublesome.

There's more details but I have to keep them for the story.
So just don't worry about it, he'll end up as a psychotic crazy drug addict maniacal murderer just as in the story. (motivating, isn't it?)

The "being awkward and quiet" also indicate more to his actual self still being alive despite the "Sanzu" personality.

"You'd watch anything with Baji in it, wouldn't you?" Mitsuya looks like he's in the mood to play around. You have no intention to be the doll this time around.

"I would." you choose to shamelessly accept, "I do hope that doesn't get you too jealous, Mitsuya-kun."

"How can it not?" a smirk rises up Baji's lips, "He's been going around as your knight in shining armour ever since he picked you up at the hospital that day."

"Oh, can you not digest my attention being directed to someone other than you?" you chuckle teasingly, "It's alright, Mitsuya-kun. If you try hard, I'm sure you'll make it to me some day."

"Luna, Mana." Mitsuya picks up a fry from the plate and tosses it across the hall, "Go fetch." everyone's jaws drop. The girls actually leave.

"For someone who can't stop blushing around me," Mitsuya watches as his little sisters scurry away, "you've got a really big mouth, (Name)-chan. And might I warn you, this could end you up in trouble."

"You're hardly a sweat, Mitsuya-kun." you wink at him. If he's planning to go all out so are you, "But maybe it could be trouble for you."
