Q: How to make a text scenario feel real?
Ans: Deactivate the autocorrect.
Funnily, mine's never turned on and I rarely make mistakes (I hope this isn't jinxed) so I specially wrote this chapter while feeling a little pissed and lazy.

"What was it?" Max leans back into the couch, his belt and office bag throw to the side.
Smiley and Angry are unsurprisingly home today and are surprisingly cooking in the kitchen while Bruce stands to watch (and make sure they don't blow anything up despite Max's reassurance. You'd probably have done the same).
"What did you get cocky enough to have a bet with Koko over?" Max doesn't look like he's in the mood for jokes and if you're right about it, he's had a tiring day at work too. In short, you're in a risky situation at the moment.
And it just so happens that Kokonoi's words from earlier still hit your pride just as much although he's not around anymore. This makes you feel oddly humiliated internally on even the idea of thinking of an excuse.
But can you tell Max the truth?
There's pretty good chance you'd be grounded and scolded to the point your ears bleed, you wouldn't even be able to blame him for it– you did actually get yourself in trouble several times because of it.
"It isn't because of that time when you fooled that gang of boys?"
It takes you a moment to realize these words have been spoken out loud and another to realize Max himself said them. Instantly, your body stiffens, shoulders raising along with your heart rate in expectations of an outburst from your brother.
But moments pass by in silence– it doesn't come. Max doesn't say anything at all, he only leans his head back in the couch and sighs.
You let more time pass by in silence expecting the rebuking to begin any time now but more the time passes more you realize that Max doesn't look angry at all. He doesn't even look like he's thinking about that anymore.
"How did you get to know?" your anxiousness pushes you to speak first, "A-Aren't you mad?"
Max turns to you with a small hum. He doesn't answer your question but the way Angry who had walked out of the kitchen two minutes ago spins back on his heels and quickly begins marching towards the kitchen dragging along Smiley who has just stepped out too explains enough.
"What the— you snitches!" you hysterically look between Max and the now empty kitchen door.
"Snitches?" Max frowns, "Souya was only telling me you looked cool assuming you'd already have told me. It's such a shame I hear of things you do from other's mouths not yours."
Your lips tighten, eyes focused into his, "You're... not mad that I did that?"
He sighs, eyes flitting to where Angry peeks out of the kitchen at the annoyed glare you're giving him, "Come here both of you." he calls them, then turns to you as Angry and Smiley walks towards the couches. Smiley doesn't look too bothered as Angry is and you don't like that one bit considering the stunt he pulled earlier.
"I'm not really angry about what you did, no." Max says, "I'm am very disheartened by the fact that you didn't tell me yourself though."
"I thought you'd be mad... " you say quietly.
