"Aren't you excited?! We're going to be looking at Bogarts again! I wonder if mine has changed?"

"Are you serious? I'm terrified! Last time mine was this giant snake and the jack in the box it turned into was even creepier!"

"I bet yours is going to be a giant spider!"

"Ew no, don't say that or else it will be!"

These were the conversations Shoto and his friends who also chose DADA as a NEWT heard when they were walking to class. Their Professor was Remus Lupin, a man who was part werewolf, and he was known to have rather creative lessons. That included bringing transformative creatures like Bogarts into his classes. They had studied the Bogart in their 3rd year with Professor Lupin, but the man had to take time off these past two years as his situation had declined, but with the help of Headmaster Dumbledore he was back in his position as Defence Against the Dark Arts professor.

His lessons were great and did make Shoto more passionate about the subject, not seeing the spells and strategies to deal with dark forces as something to be rigorously taught and used to seek power over others, but as ways to protect and save yourself and those who you care about. Lupin was a brilliant teacher who was patient and understanding with all of his students, and once or twice had he talked with Shoto in the evenings when parts of the course were difficult to him due to his mental blocks.

Professor Lupin first introduced them to Bogarts in their third year. It is a creature that takes the shape of the thing that you fear most, and only by using the Boggart-Banishing spell Riddikulus can you overcome it, transforming it into something funny.

Thankfully, they had a practical lesson with the Bogart, and so once each student had their turn tackling the creature they were allowed to leave the class for the rest of the period and either study for another subject or have a short break between classes. Shoto was one of the last students to go, standing purposefully at the back of the line so as few students as people would see what form the creature would take. Behind him were only Momo, Sero and Bakugou, the blond wanting to go last in order to see the strengths and weaknesses of his different classmates as well as have time to prepare himself for whatever the Bogart may transform into for him.

At last only the 4 of them were left and Shoto walked up to the wardrobe where the Bogart was concealed inside.

"Are you ready?" asked Professor Lupin. "Remember, clear your mind and know that whatever you see isn't real. Okay?"

Shoto nodded his head and gripped his wand tightly by his side, his knuckles turning white just barely visible by the sleeve of his robe. Lupin waved his hand and the wardrobe unlocked, a large hand immediately gripping he door and shoving it open until it collided backwards with a bang. His breath hitched as Endeavour walked out, face showing anger and disappointment and blood on his Auror robes.

"Shoto, I've taught you this spell five times. How have you not mastered it yet, boy?" Endeavour asked, his eyes zoning in on Shoto.

Shoto tried to summon the words to his lips but his throat seemed to constrict, not allowing air or sound to pass through. He unknowingly took a step back when the Bogart stalked forwards once more.

"Shoto, do I have to show you what happens to a boy that doesn't know how to behave? Do I have to punish you for you to see the greater good of all my training?!" the Bogart's fist clenched, Endeavour's eyes turning black with rage.

"We don't need another repeat of Touya, do we?" Endeavour sneered.

Shoto's eyes widened as flickers of dark mass, destruction, blood and screams filled his view. He flinched when the Bogart walked forwards again, rolling up its sleeve and fist lifting up into the air. Before it could fly straight for his head he managed to use the spell:
