The summer before their 7th year, Inko and Izuku Midoriya took Shoto to the beach, adamant that it was the first thing they would do once they returned from school since he told them he had never seen the ocean. They used a Portkey to travel to Chesil Beach, Dorset and spent the day walking along the giant sand shingle, looking at the marine wildlife and spotting different fish in the clear blue water. They went in the local cafes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and when they returned well into the evening they slumped into bed immediately.
Shoto used Inko's camera to practise taking photos, and now they were stuck on the wall using blu tac for him to look at, alongside a few others of his times at both school and the Midoriyas'. He felt so grateful that he had so many people looking out for him, wanting to make the present and future bright.
Sometimes he felt guilty at the money Inko must be spending on him over summer, even if they did only go out three or four times. He knew that she was a half-blood, and had her own bakery in the muggle world that was doing well, her magic helping the production and taste of her goods. It was enough money to support herself and her son, so Shoto didn't want nor expect too much, already thankful he had a place to sleep over the holidays.
He knew there was a savings account for him in Gringotts, but he couldn't access that until he was 18. His father had tried to have it removed and put into his own name, but since it was his mother who made it he didn't have the power to do so. Shoto didn't know how much money was in there, but he hoped it was enough to find somewhere to live once he left Hogwarts.

"Shoto, I think I saw Kaachan in that cart down there. I'm going to find Uraraka and then come back." Midoriya called out before he disappeared into the crowd on Platform 9 and 3/4.
Shoto shook his head but a small smile graced his lips, thankful that the pair were finally getting closer. It was painfully obvious they were attracted to one another, if their constant letter exchanging over the summer was anything to go by; even he and Katsuki didn't write letters everyday.
He followed his friend's directions and clambered onto the last cart on the train, looking through each open doorway until he found a familiar head of blond hair. Bakugou was reading The Daily Prophet intently, his brows furrowed together at whatever he was reading. Shoto managed to put his luggage onto the rack above and sit beside the boy before his presence was noticed.
"What are you reading?" he asked, leaning over to look at the newspaper, making Bakugou jump next to him.
"Bloody hell! Shoto?!"
"Hey."
"Don't scare me like that, idiot." Bakugou huffed but hugged the Gryffindor anyways. "Missed you." he said, voice muffled by Shoto's red robes.
"I missed you too." replied Shoto, taking in the caramel and sugar scent of his boyfriend; when they parted he initiated a well overdue kiss, hands running through Bakugou's soft blond hair like they was meant to be there.
When at last they parted, Shoto warning Bakugou that Midoriya and Ochako were on the way, Bakugou groaned and kissed him once more before they settled down in their seats, shoulders bumped together as they looked down at the newspaper once more.
"The League are back?" Shoto read the title, now frowning too. "But I thought the Aurors took care of that group years ago."
"They did. You know that book I was reading about Aurors? Well it says Yagi Toshinori, or All Might, defeated the leader of the group when he was Head Auror, but then he retired due to the injuries he had accumulated. But now there are rumours of a new leader and a new League."
