Winter term was flying by with Shoto's schedule being full to the brim everyday. After long hours of studying and researching it was a visit to the Library to collect even more books before dinner. After that it was a trip to the Greenhouse to check up on his plant collection and to record their progress before he met with his friends for supper in their common room.

At the weekend they attended the Inter House Quidditch Competition and surprised one or two of the teachers with how enthusiastic they were with their cheering; bets were made for butterbeers and sweets in Hogsmeade where they spent the afternoon. At the moment it seemed like Gryffindor was in line for taking 1st place, meaning Shoto often looked very smug at the matches to the frustration of his friends.

As well as this, one evening Momo suggested they do a Secret Santa gift exchange between the four of them. Shoto began to feel a little nervous since he hadn't had much experience with buying presents before, but he would put in his best efforts.

"I've put all of our names in this jar, so we'll each take a turn taking one slip of paper. Shall we set a budget?"

"Probably for the best since some of us don't have the best concept of money." Tokoyami gave a purposeful look to Momo who blushed abashedly: she was known for always buying expensive clothes and products, not having to worry much about the cost due to her family's wealth.

"I think 6 Galleons is enough." Bakugou suggested. "How about it?"

"I think it's enough to buy something substantial." Shoto agreed. "Are we limited to Hogsmeade or can we shop elsewhere?"

"Anywhere is fine, as long as it gets here before the Christmas holiday. Speaking of, do any of you plan to stay here over Christmas?"

"I don't know. Have you written to Mitsuki recently?" Shoto asked Bakugou who huffed at the mention of his mother.

"The hag will probably want us to go home. She goes all out at Christmas and she probably doesn't want you to miss it."

"I'm sure she'd like her own son to celebrate the festive season with her too." stated Shoto.

"Sho, I'm pretty sure she likes you more than me."

"No way, she's your mother."

"But you're way nicer than me. We just argue all the time."

"You never truly mean what you say when you argue though, do you? You both simply have very expressive personalities."

Bakugou snorted a laugh at Shoto's description.

"Just say we get angry a lot. The old hag knows just how to tick me off."

Momo coughed lightly to regain their attention from their lover's quarrel, before announcing that she too would be going home for Christmas. Tokoyami would also be going, and so it was set that they had to have their presents bought, wrapped and ready before the 20th December, a day before they break up for the holiday. It was December 3rd, meaning they had just under three weeks to choose their gifts.

Once in his own room Shoto pulled out the slip of paper with his Secret Santa on. His was Tokoyami's, meaning he would have to put some deep thought into what would make a good present for the dark and mysterious wizard...

It had been a week and time was running out for them to choose their presents. Shoto had been so focused on his studies that he had completely forgot about the gift exchange until he saw Bakugou looking through a catalogue instead of his usual novel by the fire. He still had no idea what to get, and so one Wednesday afternoon he took a solo trip to Hogsmeade to gain some inspiration for his Secret Santa. He went into Dervish and Banges but couldn't see anything that would suit Tokoyami's tastes, and then into Gladrags Wizardwear, where he found a set of new, top quality, jet black dress robs with a slight silver trim that may do the trick.
