Their exams loomed closer and closer with every passing day. Soon there was no time for anything fun, the 7th years all with their heads stuck in their textbooks and wrists aching from practising the same spells over and over and over. Their weekdays were full of classes or individual study, and their precious weekend hours spent filling out coursework and essay assignments.

Shoto's only reprieve was Care of Magical Creatures where there was no coursework and was instead tested on knowledge recall in class and practical assessments with the beings they were studying at the time. Hagrid was an excellent teacher and always praised Shoto highly, meaning it was one NEWT he didn't have to worry about.

He was thoroughly enjoying Charms with Professor Flitwick, but no matter how fun it was to send objects flying around the classroom, it was debilitating to have every move of his wand criticised each minute. At the end of one three hour class, Shoto almost threw his wand into the Black Lake, feeling nothing but strain and exhaustion.

Luckily, during the Easter holiday they were granted one weekend off from their studies. Mina immediately suggested they go into Hogsmeade since it would be fun now nature was back in bloom, but a few of them were unsure in case the League attacked, even if there had been no sightings since the Dementor incident.

Shoto was going to remind her that he still didn't have permission to go, but he had snuck out to Hogsmeade several times to Hogsmeade anyways with Bakugou; he was sure the other Slytherins knew what he was doing too. Besides, he was 18 now and a legal adult, meaning he didn't need a parent or guardian's permission.

"We'll meet up in the Entrance at 9, okay?!" Mina decided, everyone nodding in agreement before splitting off for their last class of the day. For Shoto, it was Transfiguration, meaning two hours of trying to turn a Toad into a Toadstool, leaving no legs or eyes behind. From in front of him he could see Denki trying to turn a King into a Rook, the difficult transfiguration increasing his level of frustration to Wizards Chess; it was amusing how small sparks of electricity shot out of his wand whenever he felt extremely frustrated, making his blond hair stand on end.

But at last the day ended, and Shoto went to sleep excited for his first trip to Hogsmeade with all of his friends.

9AM was far too early for Shoto, and when his bedside alarm went off, its shrill and piercing noise breaking the quiet and warm ambience of his dorm room, he groaned and rolled over onto his front, smushing his face into his pillow as if to force himself to go back to sleep. It took him a while to sit up and turn the clock off, pushing himself out of bed to get washed and dressed for his outing.

He washed his face and brushed his teeth before opening his trunk for clothes. The weather was getting warmer but there was still a sharp breeze in the air; so, he settled on black jeans and black turtleneck under a brown crewneck sweater. He tamed his hair whilst tying his shoes, and make sure to grab his wand and wallet with the money he had saved from Christmas before heading down to the Entrance Hall, finding Katsuki the first one there besides a bouncy Mina.

"Good morning." he greeted, giving a tired smile before letting out a yawn.

"Morning Shobaby!"

"Loud." he mumbled, dropping his head onto Bakugou's shoulder. "I didn't hear you get up this morning, and your dorm is across the hall from mine Mina."

"When you sleep your dead to the world, that's why Halfie." scoffed Bakugou. "Come on, let's get some coffee from the Hall before to speed up waiting for the idiots."

"We're early." Shoto noted as he chivalrously held open the door for the Slytherin.

"Yeah yeah."

The door shut behind them and they realised they truly were up early, for only a small group of Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws were in the Hall eating breakfast. The pair found a set of disposable cups on the table, as if the object had read their minds, and they made their coffee strong and black to wake them up properly.
