Chapter 14
I opened my eyes to total chaos
“do something!” a male voice shouted
“I’m trying!” a female screamed
“you’re not doing enough! I swear Katrina, if she doesn’t wake up I’ll kill you” the man said. I closed my eyes and smiled
“Zevvran” I whispered. The room fell silent
“did you hear that?” Levon whispered
“shh!” Amarie said. I fluttered my eyes trying to keep them open
“Zev?” I whispered. He came to me
“Layana? Can you hear me?” I reached out with my left hand and tried to find his face. When I found it I stroked it, holding my eyes open to look into his.
“Another promise for the list” I whispered. He gasped, tears flowing in a fit of relief
“Every promise is worth it if I get you” he said. And then I fell into a deep sleep.
I opened my eyes and found I was back in the marble room I was in before. I rolled over and found I was in a different flowing white lacy dress. I laughed and sat up. Zevvran was in the corner fast asleep. There was a piece of parchment in his lap. I scooted over and carefully slipped it out of between his hands and read
“The angel sleeps in my arms,
She whispers that she loves me.
She looks upon me with her glittering eyes,
The angel is my one and only.
The angel is gone such a long time,
And I feel my life slowly give away,
And when she comes back to me,
I wonder will she stay?
The angel cries tears of silver,
As she lay upon her bed
The angel glows and radiates her perfection,
While what I was really seeing was red
I was Seeing Red.”
I felt a single tear roll down my cheek, and I had to bight my lip to stop the flood. I climbed out of my bed and knelt before the sleeping Zevvran. I took him into my arms, and woke him up with a kiss. He stiffened at first, then realising who I was, he stopped struggling and brought me closer to him.
“I love you” he whispered, and our tears fell and mixed together, as we cried in each other’s arms.
He led me out of the room into a wide grey room, full of my unsuspecting friends. Zevvran walked in, with me hiding behind the door frame.
“I have bad news” he said solemnly. Amarie looked at him, and then past me to the room I was staying in
“No” she said shaking her head. Zevvran smiled
“Yes” he said “you won’t be allowed to keep her stuff” I laughed and swept into the room
“Hey g-” I began, but was immediately winded by a slightly hysterical Amarie, and a tearful Levon. Veara came up behind them both and said
“If I were able I would cry” in her windy voice. I pulled through my hysterical friends and pulled Veara into a huge hug.
“We need to talk later” she whispered. I nodded and released her, pulling Amarie into a hug. She shook with tears as I held her
