*Kat's POV*

Thank God it was the weekend, I didn't think I'd be able to take any questions from Midoriya about his notebook without cracking under the pressure. I was never a good liar to begin with but I knew I'd have to think of what to say by the time Monday came around.

Wanting to get my mind off what I did, I texted Nejire to see if she wanted to hang out today,

"Sorry, I can't today! I'm busy this whole weekend with intern work :( I promise we'll hang out after though!"

I let out a sigh as I throw my phone onto the bed. Part of me of course understood that it's work she has to do, part of being a hero and all that. But I couldn't help but feel...a bit jealous? I'm not sure but I didn't want to feel like that towards my best friend so I pushed those thoughts out of my head.

"Guess I'll go bother River for a while, that's always fun to do."

*River's POV*

river_on_down: jeez what a sore loser huh?

scale_the_building: for real. he didnt have to go off on you like that

river_on_down: its no problem, its actually kinda funny to see them get so worked up over nothing. thanks for sticking up for me though, Scale. pretty cool

scale_the_building: its no problem. youve done the same for me before

Reading those words in the chat made my stomach turn, in what way I couldn't tell though. I was about to reply back when I hear my doorknob turning and having a really good guess of who it was, I didn't turn to face Kat when she let herself into my apartment.

"Sup, Kitty Kat?"

"Hey, River. I'm bored so here I am. Watcha doing?"

"Hanging with peeps online."

"By peeps you mean...Scale?"
I didn't have to be looking at her to know she had that smug look on her face that she gets whenever I talk about these kind of things. Without facing her I stuck my middle finger up towards her.

"Come on River, you two have been talking to each other for like a year now! Don't you at least know each other's names??"

"Yes, we do and I'm not saying anything more on that. I hate it when you tease me."

She's about to say something back when I see my phone light up with a phone call. I hold my hand up to Kat and I'm about to decline the call out of habit until I look at the caller ID and at that point I pick it up right away,

"Yeah?"

"Need your assistance again. Meet at the usual place in a half hour." *Click*

I sit there for a bit and let out a sigh before putting my phone down. Even on my days off I can't catch an actual break but I get myself ready to leave, shooting Scale a quick message,

river_on_down: i need to go do something, sorry for the sudden leave. give me a couple hours and Ill be back on

scale_the_building: sure, be careful

I shut everything down and I remember that Kat's here with me. I don't want to leave them here on their own since I didn't know how long I'd be gone for but I'd also feel bad sending her back home when she just got here. Then the dumbest idea I've had in a while hit me;

"Hey Kat, I've been called to help someone out with something. You can come with to help but I need you to promise me that you won't mention what happens to anyone, and I mean ANYONE."

She looks at me with a puzzled but curious look on her face for a couple of seconds before she gives me her answer,
"Sure. Not a word to anyone!"
