*River's POV*

"So you're sure you don't have any ideas where she could be?" The policeman asked me once again, like my answer would change the third time he asked.

"No, I don't. She's not the kind of person to just run off for no reason like this."

"But she did before, didn't she? Are you sure this isn't just her running away again?"

I let out a exasperated sigh. "Alright then, I think I'll let myself out now. Thanks for the help." Annoyed with their almost dismissive behavior I got up from the desk and proceeded to let myself out of the office. I should've figured the police weren't gonna be much help but it didn't hurt to try.

The thing is, I sort of had an idea about where she is or at least who she talked to recently. If that was the case I had to hurry before anything happens and before the heroes find her or else she'd be in more trouble than I can help her with.

*Kat's POV*

I've been here for almost two days now. Shigaraki had me heal up his other arm and his legs after being impressed at how clean his arm healed up but to my disappointment that was the only interaction we've had since I've been here.

With the help of the purple smoke guy (who's name is Kurogiri as I was told) I was able to grab some of my stuff from my old place and bring it to my new room using his portals. Everything was going fine until the last trip I made to grab some small stuff where I noticed my front door was wide open. There was also a dent where the doorknob hit the wall, like the door was flung open and that's when I knew that River would probably be showing up any time soon. I made sure I grabbed everything and left my room for the last time.

"Thank you. That's the last time I'll be going back." Kurogiri didn't say anything back but gave me a single nod before taking his leave. I start putting my stuff away but my mind already started thinking of something else that I've been curious about since I got here:
𝘐 𝘸𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘚𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘬𝘪'𝘴 𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦. 𝘐𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘯'𝘵 𝘩𝘶𝘳𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘢 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘱𝘦𝘦𝘬, 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵?

The urge to start snooping around was so strong that it was impossible to resist and it was only a matter of time before I was finally alone. Kurogiri kept to himself and I had no idea where Shigaraki was at the moment so what better time to do a little nosing around than right now. The thought of getting caught did nothing to dissuade me as I poked my head out of my room and took a few glances around, making sure the coast was clear before I stepped out and closed the door behind me.

Having no idea which room was his I just started opening every door I passed, just enough to see inside. A lot of the rooms were either completely empty or full of random boxes and furniture covered with a thin layer of dust. I didn't give these rooms more than a glance before closing the door and moving on. After the fourth empty room the next one I opened looked like what I was looking for; it was dark but I could see the faint outlines of what looked to be a desk with a desktop computer set up on it, bed and dresser and a few miscellaneous things strewn about the floor. I let myself in and closed the door behind me.

I've always been a little weird with people I have an interest in but to me it was normal. Staring a little too much, maybe sniffing their hair a bit when I hug them, maybe get a few pictures with my phone when they're not looking; I've always done stuff like this and here it was no different. Right away I make my way towards the bed and let myself fall onto it, my face landing directly into the pillow.

I was never good at describing smells, heck I could barely smell anything normally but the scent I was getting from the pillow was enough to make me let out a shuddering exhale. It was so nice to me I couldn't help myself and I squeezed the pillow tightly to me, kicking my feet out of sheer giddiness. Keeping the pillow close to me, I get up and look around the rest of the room.
