*River's POV*
Kat shook me awake once we got back to the bar. I noticed that evening was approaching by the time we arrived. She said that since there was a lot of people who joined now, we'd have to share her room for now. That was fine by me, I was just looking forward to finally being able to relax without the looming threat of jail time and/or an execution constantly hanging over my head.
She leads me upstairs to her room and I'm immediately hit with the smell of plant life. Kat really decorated the place with flowers, she had them sprouting right out of the walls and a few potted ones here and there. I can already feel myself about to sneeze and I cover my mouth and nose with the collar of my shirt.
"Kat I don't know if I can sleep in here, I haven't even been here for a minute and I could feel myself about to sneeze so hard my brains will come out my nose."She lets out an annoyed sigh before waving her arm in a sweeping motion across her room. Just like that the flowers disappeared, leaving almost no trace except for some small cracks along the walls.
"Damn, you've gotten pretty good with that lately, huh?"Kat gave me a sheepish smile before heading over to a closet, throwing out a bunch of blankets and pillows towards me. I start throwing them into one of the empty corners of the room, planning on setting myself up right there.
"You set yourself up here, I'll be right back I gotta check something real quick.""You do you, Kat. I'm good here."
*Kat's POV*
I practically walk right into Toga as I'm leaving. The top of her head knocks into my chin a bit.
"Ow! Ah, you ok?"Despite rubbing her hand on the growing red spot on her forehead, Toga still smiled at me like nothing happened.
"On no I'm okay, really. I just wanted to meet your sibling, they're not sleeping yet right?""No, go ahead. They're just getting themselves settled in." I let Toga walk past me into my room as my head towards Shigaraki's room. I was surprised to see the door open and even more so to see him playing videogames one of the new people, Spinner.
Without even looking away from the game (which I could tell right away was Smash Bros.) Shigaraki calls out to me. "Kat, grab another controller. Me and you can probably kick his ass if we team up."Of course I wouldn't pass up another opportunity to be close to him, even though there was other people in the room. I told him to give me a second and I run back to my room to get River. Before I step in though I hear from behind me, "Kat, right?"
I turn around and see Spinner, who must've followed me out the door and into the hallway as I was leaving."Yeah. What's up, is something wrong?"
"No, no! Nothing is, I just..wanted to ask you something if that was alright?"
He seemed a bit nervous when he said this and I'd be lying if I said my curiosity wasn't already piqued.
"Sure, go ahead.""That person we busted out earlier today; that was River, your older sibling right?"
I nod yes.
"And they used to be a hero right?"
I nod again, wondering where this was going."If I'm completely wrong on this, please forget I ever talked to you about this. It's embarrassing enough as it is."
When I didn't say anything he continued talking.
"See, I had this online friend who I can't get in touch with anymore. Their username was 'nagoshi' and we'd been online together a lot. They mentioned a younger sibling named Kat and that they were a pro-hero. We have no idea what each other looks like but I swear when I saw River for the first time today, it was like I knew them already. I guess what I'm asking is: is there a chance that your sibling River is my online friend?"I couldn't help the smile on my face. '𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘦𝘹𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘙𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘴 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘸'.
"You must be their friend Scale then. Yes, you have the right person. Do you want me to tell-"
