Song - Invisible - Clay Aiken

I walk through the halls once again with Barb and Nancy as Barb reads off more studying questions.

It's not long though that the attempt of studying is foiled by Harrington who comes by quickly snatching the cards from Barb's hand.

"Hey!" Nancy cries.

"No no, I think you've studied enough Nance."

"Steve-"

"I'm telling ya you know you got this. Don't worry. Now on more important matters my dad has left town on a conference and my mom went with him, cause, you know she doesn't trust him."

Sad thought.

"Good call." Tommy laughs from beside him.

"So are you in?" He asks Nancy.

"For what?" Sometimes she can be so clueless.

"No parents. Big house..." Carol pipes in.

"A party?"

"Ding ding ding." Carol sighs and Tommy laughs.

"It's Tuesday?"

"Tuesday? Oh my god!" Tommy mimics.

"Shut up." Steve and I both say to him at the same time and it's quiet for a second but it feels like minutes.

"Come on it'll be low-key. It'll just be us. What do you say? Are you in? Or are you out?"

"Oh god. Look" Carol sneers at something down the hallway.

It's Jonathon hanging up posters for his little brother.

"Should we say something?" Steve asks.

"I don't think he speaks."

"How much do you wanna bet he killed 'im" Tommy smiles.

"Would you shut up!" Steve hits him.

Nancy gets ready to go over but I push her back towards her original spot.

"You stay here with Mr. Hair Nance I don't want to be left alone with these snobs." I sneer as I walk towards Jonathan leaving them behind.

"Hey." I stop next to him.

"Hey." He looks like I shouldn't be talking to him. He must have seen me with the brats.

"I'm not here to be mean or anything. I hope you know that. I hate those guys I am only ever with them because Nancy is obsessed with Steve. I came to say- I'm sorry. About your brother. I would say everyone's thinking about you but judging by the looks on their faces something tells me you won't believe me. This all sucks."

"Oh, yeah. Thanks." He's quiet.

"Do the police have any leads. Any idea what could have happened to him? I'm sure they'll find him. He's smart. He must have just lost his way or something."

"No they don't. They aren't sure if they will or how long it may take to find one."

"Oh. I'm sorry. If you need any help or anything like search party's I'm always here."

"Thanks y/n."

"No problem Jonathan." I muster up a smile before heading towards my class and the announcement for the Will Byers assembly comes on.
